Reserve Your Spot for Turtle Walks at Loggerhead Marinelife Center

Loggerhead Marinelife Center is the ideal place to get up close to sea turtles, and get to know them and their nesting patterns a little better.

The Palm Beaches are perfect for sunbathing, diving and boating . . . for humans. In the animal kingdom, we’re a primo destination for sea turtles, with our beaches being one of the most popular nesting sites on the planet.

See Gentle Giants: Learn About Sea Turtles

As much as we love showcasing Loggerheads, Greens and Leatherbacks, the turtles at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center are there mostly to rehab injuries and return to the ocean. The Marinelife Center invites the public to come learn about these creatures, visit the small aquarium, attend special events and peruse the gift shop. The center’s work was recognized with the Providencia Award for 2015, the annual tourism award given by Discover The Palm Beaches.

See ‘Green:’ Enjoy Outdoor Activities

The Palm Beaches can’t help but get “green” with their variety of outdoor activities. Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a great jumping-off point for exploring our ecosystem. The center offers guided hikes, tours, stargazing and more throughout the year. The most famous offering from the Center is the Evening Turtle Walks. These are guided seaside walks through beach areas popular for sea turtle nesting. It’s an easy way to watch sea turtles journey out from ocean waves and onto the shore for nesting time, and it’s safe for families as well as the turtles. Reserve a spot early – walks fill up fast.
