Fall Intern, Public Relations and Social Media

Discover The Palm Beaches, the official tourism marketing corporation for Palm Beach County, is seeking a paid intern to assist the Public Relations and Communications team. This unique opportunity offers students the hands-on, real-world training to learn what it takes to effectively promote America’s First Resort Destination® through productive projects, performance feedback, valuable networking, and educational opportunities within the industry. Candidates for this position should be prepared to commit at least three months to the program. If interested in an internship, please submit a resume, cover letter and one AP-style writing sample.

The internship length will total 150 hours, with the option to extend for additional time as agreed upon by the intern and the employer. This position will be compensated at a rate of $10 per hour, with a minimum of 18 hours a week, excluding unpaid 30-minute lunch breaks.  Hours can be completed in full days or half days as previously determined by the employer’s needs and the intern’s availability.  The deadline for applications would be on or before August 1st.  The internship will begin on either the end of August or the beginning of September.

Intern, Destination Services & Sales Activities

This position will report to Global Sales & Destination Services. A project outline will be issued at the beginning of the internship, each week a new component will be introduced that will provide a variety of exposure to the sales organization at DTPB. A variety of weekly duties and special projects will be presented over the course of the internship. Each week, the intern will meet with the Senior Director of Destination Services to evaluate his or her progress, strengths / skills and identify areas he or she would like to be engaged with in greater depth, or level of knowledge and understanding, based on curriculum application.
