The University of Memphis Tigers and Western Kentucky Hilltoppers headed for the Boca Raton Bowl in December 2016 but only one would come out on top. . . the C-USA champion Hilltoppers. Both teams finished strong this season but Western Kentucky claimed their third bowl game win with a dominating 51-31 victory over the American Athletic Conference Memphis Tigers.
