WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (February 6, 2015) - The Palm Beaches are the best way to experience Florida, and travelers to the destination have a variety of new hotels in which to stay, outdoor and underwater activities to explore, innovative restaurants to sample, and refreshed, world-class spas for a much needed ahh. Spanning 47 miles of pristine Atlantic Ocean beaches from Boca Raton to Jupiter, 145 miles of tropical waterways, and insurmountable attractions across 2,000 square miles, America's First Resort Destination® is a collection of 38 diverse cities and towns that provide the ultimate wanderlust's experiential expedition.

The new Hilton West Palm Beach is scheduled opened its doors on January 29, 2016. The 400-room hotel is connected to the Palm Beach County Convention Center by an enclosed walkway, and has added a new dimension to the county's tourism appeal. The property offers two ballrooms and eight conference rooms, as well as additional event space. It also features a 225-seat restaurant named "Manor," which showcases the talents of renowned local chef Matthew Byrne of the acclaimed eatery, Kitchen. The hotel includes a lobby bar called "Galley,' a fitness center and a landscaped pool area with cabanas. Located in the heart of the Convention and Entertainment District, guests are just a few short steps away from CityPlace, which offers a mix of more than 80 national stores, specialty shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.

A new Mandarin Oriental Hotel is planned to debut in downtown Boca Raton in 2017. The property will include two adjacent towers that will form part of an upscale mixed-use development featuring 65,000 square feet of luxury lifestyle retail, as well as a world-class private club, which will offer social, fitness and championship golf amenities.
West Palm Beach is set to become home to one of eight new Canopy by Hilton Hotels, the brand's concept touted as an energized and natural extension of its neighborhood with local design, food & drink, and culture. In May 2016, ground will break for the new 150-room, 14-story hotel, which will be built two blocks from CityPlace.

Boca Raton will welcome The Palm Beaches' third Hyatt Place property in summer 2016 with the opening of the 200-room, 13-story Hyatt Place Boca Raton. The hotel will include an 8,000-square-foot restaurant, as well as 4,000 square feet of meeting space and retail.

The new Residence Inn West Palm Beach Downtown/CityPlace Area is The Palm Beaches' first extended-stay property, boasting spacious suites with fully-equipped kitchens, complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi. Located in the heart of the casual-urban West Palm Beach downtown, the 152-suite hotel is within walking distance to more than 120 shops and restaurants. The property is only an eight-minute drive from Palm Beach International Airport (PBI).

West Palm Beach continues to attract new hotel developments. An AC Hotels by Marriott, a mid-priced chain targeting young, tech and fashion-savvy travelers, has been flagged for the former city hall site and a Starwood Hotels and Resorts Aloft property is proposed on the northeast corner of Third Street and Rosemary Avenue.

Through a growing celebrated chef presence and access to local, farm-fresh ingredients, The Palm Beaches' culinary scene continues to tantalize taste buds and receive critical acclaim.

A second location for the popular vegan restaurant, Christopher's Kitchen, is slated to open in West Palm Beach in February 2016. Owned and operated by Chef Christopher Slawson, the restaurant will use honest techniques and ingredients that maximize real nutritional value for healthful results. Joining Slawson's first location in Palm Beach Gardens, the new eatery will be a place where casual elegance and an unrelenting passion for the finest organic living food can harmoniously co-exist.

3-J Hospitality, one of the leading hospitality brands in South Florida, is making its way north to Lake Worth with a new concept - C.W.S., a casual yet sophisticated craft cocktail bar and restaurant, opening March 2016.

Celebrated South Florida Chef and season nine "Top Chef" finalist Lindsay Autry has partnered with seasoned restaurateur Thierry Beaud to open THE REGIONAL Kitchen & Public House in downtown West Palm Beach's popular dining and entertainment destination, CityPlace. Set to open in Fall 2016, THE REGIONAL intends to present a unique perspective on America's time-honored cuisine through local ingredients, seasonally-influenced dishes and the soulful inspiration of a chef-driven kitchen.

James Beard Award-nominated chef, Clay Conley, and his partners in Buccan Group have opened Grato, a modern Italian trattoria-inspired restaurant in West Palm Beach on January 3, 2016. Grato, which means "grateful" in Italian, features an approachable family-style menu and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Diners can anticipate rustic Italian cuisine and soulful dishes that characterize Conley's mastery of ingredients and technique, made from the highest-quality local ingredients.

Johan Joes Swedish Coffee House & Café is now serving Swedish coffee and treats. The modern coffee house and café, which opened January 6, 2016, features signature Swedish favorites and chocolates, along with Scandinavian baked goods prepared in-house daily. The Café also serves sandwiches and salads among other tasty options.
Also opened in December 2015, Southern Railway Taphouse brings over 100 craft beers to the table, along with signature bar bite favorites to Downtown West Palm Beach's Clematis Street.

Grilled Cheese Gallery opened in December 2015. Located in the Historic Northwood District of West Palm Beach, the small eatery offers over a dozen grilled cheese options. Not only do they serve grilled cheese, but also Canadian-style poutine, soups, salads and desserts. Art, mounted throughout the eatery, is also available for viewing and for purchase.

Also located in Northwood Village is Dos Amigos Mexican Restaurant & Cantina, which serves up Latin flavor in its vibrantly decorated space. Diners can expect a light and tasty fusion of fresh-mex with a southwestern influence at this newly opened eatery.

In spring 2015, Wine Scene opened its doors a contemporary wine bar and art gallery located one block north of City Place in West Palm Beach. It specializes in 50 wines by the glass, charcuterie boards and tapas. Its attached gallery and courtyard can be utilized as event space for smaller corporate gatherings of 30 people, to larger, private happenings of 300 or more.

Queen of Sheeba, an Ethiopian Restaurant, opened on September 3, 2015. The restaurant named after the Ethiopian queen, does not disappoint. Located in the Historic Northwest of West Palm Beach, this humble establishment, serves up traditional Ethiopian foods with a modern twist. Known for their Soul Food, Queen of Sheeba serves up rich flavors in a cozy atmosphere.

Newly added in fall of 2015, visitors can now sip, sample and savor the flavor of West Palm Beach with 12 generous tastings from top local restaurants on the new West Palm Beach Food Tour, hosted by local foodie Kristl Story. The culinary tour is a leisurely three-hour, 1.25 mile/2 kilometer walk, with plenty of refreshing stops along the way. The Village Cheese Shoppe, a South Hampton favorite since 1970, opened in CityPlace in late fall. With an extensive cheese list, this shop is home to the finest selection of cheeses in The Palm Beaches. The specialty shop also serves a variety of home-made breakfast pastries, gourmet sandwiches, wraps, paninis, soups and salads.
Also among the newest additions to CityPlace were Cabo Flats, Capital Teas, Beer and Burger Joint. Later this winter, Brother Jimmy's BBQ, described as a legendary North Carolina, slow-smokin' barbeque, will open its doors to the public in February 2016, as will City Taphouse.

Habit Burger is now proudly selling its burgers in Royal Palm Beach as of January 2016. The burger-centric restaurant is a fast, yet casual dining option that specializes in preparing fresh, made-to-order chargrilled burgers and sandwiches featuring USDA choice tri-tip steak, grilled chicken and sushi-grade tuna cooked over an open flame. In addition, it features fresh made-to-order salads and an appealing selection of sides, handmade shakes and malts. The Habit was named the "Best Tasting Burger in America" in July 2014 in a comprehensive survey conducted by one of America's leading consumer magazines. The first Habit Burger Grill opened in Santa Barbara, California in 1969 and has since grown to more than 140 restaurants in 15 markets throughout Arizona, California, Florida, Idaho, Nevada, New Jersey, Utah, Virginia and Washington.
The New Vegan, new to Delray Beach, opened in fall 2015, offering a good nutritional vegan cuisine. The 100% vegan menu also offers cooking classes, meal plans and dairy free, soy free, wheat, gluten and GMO free food.

Also new to Delray Beach is Eat Market, a locally sourced fresh market and neighborhood grocer. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available, as are Mason jar salads, premium local organic produce, farm-raised eggs and cheeses and unique desserts. This eatery prides itself with their commitment to fresh, made-to-order-food.

Chef Daniel Boulud's renowned Café Boulud at The Brazilian Court in Palm Beach boasts a new design that is lighter and elegant, achieved with unique touches such as a shimmery ceiling made from sea shells and Pecky Cypress, improved lighting, neutral tones, and warm wood flooring. The new, expanded bar is dramatically backlit and casts a resplendent glow through the rooms. The menu balances signature Boulud dishes and French favorites inspired by Daniel's restaurants around the world, with a spotlight on the region's incredible seafood and produce.

The Flagler Club, a 25-room boutique hotel discretely located at The Breakers resort, opened in late 2015 following a $5 million transformation. This exclusive, ultra-luxury hotel welcomes guests with private access to redesigned accommodations and personalized service from pre-arrival to departure. Highlights include: premium amenities, house car service courtesy of the Club's Tesla, distinctive food & beverage offerings, and a stunning Club Lounge and panoramic Terrace - re-designed by internationally renowned Adam D. Tihany acting as design consultant to Peacock + Lewis Architects.

After an $8 million renovation, The Spa at The Breakers re-opened in late November 2015, completely transformed as the resort's coveted destination for personal renewal. The new indoor/outdoor Spa embraces guests with a relaxed, modern style - calling to mind The Breakers' casual, seaside sophistication and Italian influence - and nurtures them with heightened comfort and care. Amenities include 17 treatment rooms; a private courtyard; lounges for men, women and co-ed use; as well as a new salon area for hair and nail services.

In 2015, common spaces, including the lobby and bar areas, at Palm Beach Marriot Singer Island Beach Resort were redesigned to be more guest-friendly, and more amenable to work and play. The upgraded spaces are equipped with new furniture, increased Wi-Fi bandwidth and charging stations for smartphones and other devices. The revamped common areas now encourage guests to mingle and gather throughout their stay, lending to a more communal, social feel.

The 33,000-square-foot Sports and Racquet Club facility at PGA National Resort & Spa recently underwent an impressive $4 million facelift. Upgrades include state-of-the-art exercise equipment, an indoor racquet ball court, three aerobics studios with new sound systems, a five-lane saltwater lap pool, a spin room with video road mapping, an indoor volleyball court, two lighted pickle/paddle ball courts, 18 Har Tru tennis courts and one lighted hard court with a hitting wall.

In 2015, the Wyndham Boca Raton completed the final phase of an extensive two-year renovation. From the 184 guestrooms and suites to the Grand Ballroom, Addison, and Mizner rooms to its public spaces, the property now features a casually elegant, modern new look. The resort has also added an organic tea lounge, TrendTea, and an in-house yoga studio, Yoga Journey.

Musical Swings have swung into Downtown West Palm Beach, with the city's latest art installation. This marks the first East Coast stop in the USA. The Swings, a giant collective musical installation, which was created by internationally renowned studio Daily tous les jours, aims to bring people together as they create melodies by swinging together. The swings, which are free, have been available for public use as of February 4 through March 6.

Comedy is back in Delray Beach with the Main Stage Comedy series at Delray Beach Center for the Arts. Once per month through April 2016, experience acts of some of today's top comedians at The Crest Theatre. Upcoming performances include Mike Marino and Vincent Pastore on February 26, 2016, and Judy Gold on March 24, 2016. Tickets are from $45 (regular reserved) and $65 (premium seating).

Recently opened on February 6, 2016, Manatee Lagoon - An FPL Eco-Discovery Center, is a new, free Palm Beach County educational attraction with a dedicated area for viewing manatees up close. The 16,000-square-foot center features engaging, hands-on exhibits for visitors to learn all about these endangered and unique creatures as well as the natural wonders of the surrounding Lake Worth Lagoon. On cold winter days, the facility's observation deck will be the ideal spot to view manatee herds basking in the warm-water outflows from Florida Power & Light Company's adjacent Riviera Beach Next Generation Clean Energy Center.

In conjunction with the Ann Jackson Gallery of Atlanta, Georgia, The Gardens Mall presents, The Art of Dr. Seuss Collection, January 17 - February 14, 2016. This collaborative exhibition features selections of artworks and sculptures from The Art of Dr. Seuss, works from Dr. Seuss' best-known children's books, and The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss, a mind-expanding collection based on decades of artwork from Dr. Seuss. Enjoy special weekend performances from the Maltz Jupiter Theatre with SEUSSICALTM, a Seuss Story Hour every Thursday at 10 a.m., and special events hosted by The Gardens Mall and its luxury retailers throughout the exhibition period. Exhibition hours run concurrent with mall hours, Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. in the Grand Court.
The Boca Raton Museum of Art celebrates Andy Warhol, the late pioneer of pop-art, with three exhibitions that opened on January 26 and run through May 1, 2016.

Launched in fall of 2015, the City of West Palm Beach's Arts & Entertainment District (A&E District) has been enhanced by a wide variety of vibrant murals which add vivid color to the hip and happening downtown area, thanks to CANVAS, an outdoor street art museum show. The new district unites a fast-growing number of its top cultural institutions, as well as the growing art scene of the area. This cultural corridor spans a two-mile city radius, which includes institutions of fine art, theatres and live music venues such as the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, The Flagler Museum, Palm Beach Dramaworks on Clematis Street, as well as The Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach. The A&E District runs from Clematis Street south to Okeechobee Boulevard, and from Tamarind Avenue to the Town of Palm Beach. This area also contains CityPlace, a popular West Palm Beach destination for shopping, dining and entertainment, as well as the trendy nightlife strip along Clematis Street. More than 22 organizations are linked by a free, 10-stop trolley bus that operates between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Regarded as one of the most inspired and admired retail and entertainment centers in the nation, the CityPlace project in Downtown West Palm Beach marked its 15th anniversary in 2015. The open-air, Italian-inspired, 72-acre property was built by a collaboration of developers led by Related Companies, the visionaries behind New York's Time Warner Center and Hudson Yards. A new chapter is expected in the New Year, as the precinct prepares to welcome new home furnishings retailers, all within walking distance from the new Hilton West Palm Beach, which opened in January 2016.

Tony Danza, Spencer Day and Jane Monheit will make their Royal Room debut at The Colony Hotel during the 2015-2016 season. The grand reopening of the DuBois Pioneer Home to the public is expected later this year. The home, built in 1898 on an ancient shell midden, is classified under the National Register of Historical Places. The home will be open for free tours, and is located in DuBois Park in Jupiter.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programing is picking up some steam and expanding to Jupiter, according to leadership at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, the local authority on informal science education. STEM Studio, an extension of the 55-year-old nonprofit venue in West Palm Beach, will open to the public in mid-February at 1209 Main St. Unit #112. In partnership with Bricks 4 Kidz, the 2,000-square-foot space will serve as a social hub for educational enrichment in Downtown Abacoa. On Saturday, March 12, an open house, free and open to the public, will celebrate the new space and satellite programming.

The Cypress Creek Natural Area in Jupiter, is experiencing a $20 million expansion, set to open later this year with a restored lodge surrounded by hiking and kayaking trails.

The Cypress Creek Natural Area currently encompasses 2,083 acres.

In January 2017, West Palm Beach will welcome The Ballpark of The Palm Beaches. This will be the second baseball stadium within the county, in additional to Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter. The new ballpark will bring two additional major league teams: The Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. The Miami Marlins and The St. Louis Cardinals already host spring training in Jupiter.

Norton Museum located in West Palm Beach has broken ground for the construction of its new $60 million expansion on February 6, 2016. The expansion includes a 42,000 square-foot West Wing and reorienting the entrance of the museum. The museum will remain open during the expansion process. The completed product is expected in 2018.

World Series of Poker - February 4 - 15, 2016
For 12 action-packed days, hundreds of players will come from all over the United States vying for the chance to move forward to the National Championship in the World Series of Poker. This is the World Series of Poker's one and only Florida stop, taking place at the Palm Beach Kennel Club. Jupiter Seafood Festival - February 20 - 21, 2016
Seafood, live music and family fun - that's what attendees will find at this annual event. A cornhole tournament, nautical vendors and family rides will also be available to attendees. Admission is $10, kids under 12 are free. Parking is also free and pets are allowed.

Lake Worth Street Painting Festival - February 20 - 21, 2016
This art festival draws more than 100,000 art lovers to Lake Worth each year. With over 600 artists on the pavement, street murals, music, restaurants, food and snack concessions on site, visitors can enjoy a weekend filled of entertainment.

The Honda Classic - February 22 - 28, 2016
Make way for the PGA Tour as it stops for its annual visit to one of professional golf's most notable locations - PGA National Resort & Spa. A tour highlight for players and fans alike, the Champion Course - home of the famous Bear Trap and toughest golf course in Florida, according to the PGA Tour - hosts the prestigious Honda Classic. Delray Affair - April 8 - 10, 2016
Nicknamed the "Greatest Show under the Sun", the Delray Affair is the largest arts & craft festival in the Southeast United States. Approximately 250,000 people will visit Delray Beach during this three day festival.

Black Jubilee Festival - April 16, 2016
"Her Soil is Her Fortune!" This is how locals describe the historic city of Belle Glade, with its dark, rich and incredibly fertile ground. To celebrate the annual end of the harvest season, the entire Glades Region - Belle Glade, Pahokee and South Bay - come together with friends and family at the Black Gold Jubilee for fabulous food, good ole' country music, parade and firework show.

SunFest - April 27 - May 1, 2016
SunFest is Florida's largest music, art, and waterfront festival, which is held along the scenic Flagler waterfront in West Palm Beach. It is one of the most well recognized events in the southeast; SunFest presents a range of music from legends to up-and-comers. The Juried Fine Art and Craft Show (Friday-Sunday) showcases the work or more than 150 artists including paintings, sculptures, photos, and more. SunFest features 50 bands, on three stages, for five days.
