Free Fitness Activities in The Palm Beaches
Fitness activities are a great benefit for all of us…
Palm Beach County is rich in natural beauty that makes it easy to slow our pace, seek out tranquility, and forge out connection and meaningful experiences.
Whether you are travelling to The Palm Beaches or simply looking for a mental and physical reset, I encourage you to embrace the serenity that comes with island living, by soaking up our lush tropical vistas and taking on a more intentional pace of life for a few days. I’ve pulled some of my favorite places to relax and reset in the Palm Beaches, with each day spotlighting nearby cities, minimizing traffic and maximizing relaxation. Here’s a three day guide to get you started.
Start your day with a cleansing juice at Meraki Juice Kitchen in Palm Beach Gardens. A fresh pressed juice is a powerful way to renew and restore, and to give your digestive system a break. Grab another one to go or have a slow and nourishing breakfast bowl or avocado toast. Next stop: The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum. Sitting pretty at 156 feet tall, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is one of the oldest structures in The Palm Beaches. Built in 1860, it’s the perfect location to catch a view and explore the adjacent nature trails. INSIDER TIP: Check their schedule ahead of time, as they do offer twilight yoga on certain evenings.
Then, take it to the water, by renting a paddleboard or kayak at Blueline Surf & Paddle, for a beautiful and serene end to your morning.
All this fresh air and activity is sure to work up the appetite, and you’ll love the vibe and plant based dishes at Mood. Enjoy the Iron Man salad or go for the BBQ Jackfruit or Chili Bowl.
After your lunch, you might want to keep it simple, and find a cozy spot under the palms to relax with a good book and a nap; or book a spa treatment ahead of time at the newly renovated PGA National Resort and Spa.
End your first evening of wellness with light dinner at Aquagrille, where you’ll enjoy a coastal American dining experience in a modern, beach house-inspired setting.
Start day 2 on the Island of Palm Beach at the Royal’s Celis Juice Bar with an El Flamingo smoothie and a breakfast burrito. Built by notable architect John Volk in 1957, Royal Poinciana Plaza is a lovely example of Regency architecture. The lush outdoor plaza now houses upscale boutiques and chic restaurants. From the Plaza, you can walk over to the Palm Beach Bicycle Trail Shop, where you can rent a bike to enjoy the Lake Trail, a picturesque path that winds along the Lake Worth Lagoon and through some of the most notable landmarks on the island.
After your bike ride or promenade, stop by the Society of The Four Arts, the botanical gardens and sculpture garden offer a beautifully serene stop before lunch. If you’re hungry for more, Haven Palm Beach is a beautifully curated experiential gallery, featuring one-of-a-kind pieces of Art, Home & Garden Pieces, Gifts, & Fashion. They also offer organic treats and a monthly programming of wellness workshops.
Next, we head to the historic main street of West Palm Beach, for lunch in the heart of the Arts & Entertainment District. While there’s no shortage of restaurants here, Alchemy Juice Co is where you can unwind and fuel up with a wholesome artichoke caprese or a curried chicken sandwich. INSIDER TIP: This wellness café also offers a monthly Full Moon Tea Ritual- an intimate gathering that integrates the healing elements of tea, sound, meditation, and guided conversation.
Depending on your mood, the next few hours may involve a round of golf at any of The Palm Beaches 40 public courses or enjoy a relaxing infrared sauna and hydromassage at Zen Sweat Den Wellness Spa instead.
After a quick shower and change, head out to dinner at Fern Street Wine Bar and Kitchen. A true Farm to Table experience, Fern Street is passionately devoted to changing the standard of dining with their local and seasonal menu items that are always nitrate and antibiotic free, and humanely raised. End your evening with a fun silent disco on the beaches of Singer Island. Be You Disco offers monthly events that include a heart opening evening of cacao ceremony, meditation, intention setting, and dancing under the light of the Moon.
Say good morning to day 3 at The Seed Boca, a squeeze & drip co., where you can get your morning sip on with a dose of yoga with Yogi and wellness advocate, Mallory Hopes. Mallory hosts morning outdoor yoga classes here, as well as power pop yoga and summer sweat sessions around town.
After a good sweat session, check out the Salt Suite, a salt therapy session that involves breathing in therapeutic dry salt which helps relax and rejuvenate. For more zen, head to the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. The 16 acres of expansive Japanese gardens and world-class bonsai collection are a wonderful respite for the afternoon. INSIDER TIP: Make sure to plan ahead if you’d like to enjoy any of the museum’s rotating exhibitions and a delightful tea ceremony performed monthly in the Seishin-an tea house.
The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at Delray Beach, the small beach town is very walkable and you can easily combine your time by the ocean with a stroll down the ever popular Atlantic Avenue.
End your stay with dinner on the Ave, at the fresh market seafood restaurant, on the waterfront, Meso Beach House.
A memorable wellness vacation is all about intention. When you plan ahead by prioritizing physical and mental well-being, and mindfully treating your body to clean food and intentional movement. you can forge a more meaningful experience you will remember for years to come.
