Endless Family Fun: Kid-Friendly Activities in The…
Veterans Day is Thursday, Nov. 11.
Find out how attractions and businesses across The Palm Beaches are honoring the military community on and around Veterans Day and throughout the year.
For those looking to spend a day with the family spotting the animals at The Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society, the West Palm Beach attraction offers veterans and active-duty military free entry every day of the year. Up to three family members also receive a 50% discount on tickets.
Local craft beer destination Due South Brewing Co. offers an evergreen discount at its taproom in Boynton Beach. Every day, any current or former member of the military can enjoy happy hour pricing on draft beers and buy one, get one wines by the glass. The brewery accepts a military ID, VA ID, driver’s license with a V designation or a DD-214 as valid proof of service.
Bolay Fresh Bold Kitchen is a popular fast casual restaurant serving a variety of fresh, healthy and delicious bowls with locations in Palm Beach Gardens, Boca Raton, Jupiter, Wellington and West Palm Beach. All year long, the eatery offers a 20% off military discount. Bolay Fresh Bold Kitchen is also welcoming veterans to eat free on Veterans Day. Want to spend Veterans Day driving through herds of animals and then meeting more fun creatures in an animal amusement park? Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee is offering discounted tickets at $23 apiece to veterans and active-duty military through Nov. 14, 2021.
In Palm Beach, the Flagler Museum — housed in Whitehall, Henry Flagler’s stunning Gilded Age estate — is a great place to spend a few hours immersed in the island’s history. On Veterans Day, veterans will receive free entry during normal general admission hours.
A West Palm Beach family-favorite, the South Florida Science Center & Aquarium is also inviting all active-duty military personnel and veterans to visit at no charge on Veterans Day. Bonus: The offer includes a free round of mini golf on the Conservation Course.
In addition to its evergreen discount, Due South Brewing Co. is releasing a special Veterans Day beer. The week of Veterans Day, keep a lookout for the Land, Sea, & Air blonde ale. At 4% ABV, this easy-drinking beer will be available on draft and in cans both at the taproom and in select retailers across South Florida. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the beer will benefit the Palm Beach County nonprofit Wounded Veterans Relief Fund. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum is featuring two weekend events for veterans and their families. First, on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Five Flags Over Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse will feature a light breakfast, singing of the National Anthem, a presentation on U.S. military history and pop-up exhibits. The following Saturday, Nov. 13, the lighthouse will host the Jupiter Inlet Veterans Family Fishing Classic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wounded, injured or ill heroes and their families can enjoy lunch and use free fishing equipment to go fishing off the Living Shoreline Pier. Attendees can also visit or climb the lighthouse. Both events are free for veterans and their families; pre-registration is required online.
And on Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. the city of West Palm Beach will hold the county’s largest Veterans Parade. More than 2,000 veterans and supporters of veterans will march along Clematis Street. Held for the past 14 years, this year’s parade is expected to draw thousands of spectators to honor veterans. Other cities around The Palm Beaches will also be holding Veterans Day celebrations and ceremonies on Thursday, Nov. 11, including Boynton Beach and Boca Raton.
