The Art of Bonsai Workshop, Delray Beach

Bonsai means “a tree in a tray.” The art of bonsai creates the illusion of age and maturity of a tree which has developed and sustained the effects of nature for many years. Students of bonsai learn to artfully trim and train a tree in a container. For a list of required materials or to register, visit morikami.org.

Mori Stories: The Magic Rice Paddle, Delray Beach

Dates & Time: October 6, 1:00 pm

Join the Morikami for a  comical tale in which an old woman escapes from the Oni. Her escape is aided by a magic rice paddle, which also helps her feed poor hungry neighbors.

First Friday Art Walk, Delray Beach

Sukkot At The Square With Downtown Jewish, West Palm Beach

Date & Time: October 6, 12 pm – 4 pm

Downtown Jewish WPB will bring the joy of Sukkot, the mitzvah of Lulav and Etrog to The Square. Visit their sukkah along Rosemary Avenue to celebrate through traditional song, dance, prayer, and enlightening lessons. No advanced registration is required.

Big Shots for Autism, Delray Beach

If you’re all in the mood for a melody – and feeling alright about helping others – you won’t want to miss Big Shots For Autism: a benefit concert for Potentia Academy, featuring The Turnstiles – The Ultimate Tribute to the music of Billy Joel.

Halloween Happenings in The Palm Beaches

Date: Weekly on Saturdays starting on Saturday, October 7, 9 am – 1 pm.

There it GROWS again! The West Palm Beach GreenMarket is growing – again! Save the date for the return of the West Palm Beach GreenMarket, which will feature 125 vendors – making the 2023 – 2024 season the largest season opener yet! Vendors will sell various products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, coffees and teas, flowers and plants, homemade specialty items, desserts and treats, and so much more.

Taste of The Square, West Palm Beach

Date & Time: October 12, 5:30-8:30 pm: VIP: 6-8:30 pm: General Admission

Taste of The Square returns on October 12th, 2023, transforming the urban oasis into a gastronomic celebration offering ticket holders curated bites from nearly 20 restaurants alongside live music, pop-up bar, and a special VIP experience that includes early access and two beverages. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the event supports Promise Fund of Florida, a non-profit that aims to prevent the unnecessary progression of breast and cervical cancer, with a donation of 100 percent of the net proceeds.

The palate-pleasing evening event will showcase the talents of The Square’s celebrated chefs preparing appetizers, entrees and dessert samplings. In addition, event-goers will enjoy live music, bar, an artist-led Pumpkin Painting Experience benefiting Promise Fund of Florida, an interactive installation provided by Discover The Palm Beaches offering photo-worthy moments and more.

JoJo’s Farmers Market, Delray Beach

Date & Time: October 13, 9 am – 2 pm

This farmers market includes produce, food trucks, artisan and craft vendors, food vendors, coffee, children, pet vendors, and more. Come early and join a free fitness class​ with AWAT The Fitness Truck (starting at 9:15 am), and a free yoga classwith Rachele Greene at 10 am.

Sunday on the Waterfornt, West Palm Beach

Sunday on the Waterfront is the coolest scene in downtown West Palm Beach! Held every third Sunday each month from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Meyer Amphitheatre (104 Datura Street), this concert series provides an ideal setting for good times and great entertainment. Listen to the hottest acts around against our spectacular waterfront backdrop. This is a perfect weekend outing and a fantastic way to relax and unwind with friends and family on a Sunday afternoon.

Observe Japanese sadō, an ever-changing demonstration rich in seasonal subtleties. Norton Open Studio at The Square, West Palm Beach

Norton Open Studio at The Square is a bi-monthly class taught by a local artist curated by the Norton Museum of Art. Each event has a different activity and theme. All ages welcome. Children should have a parent or adult guardian to work with and should not be unattended.

Boynton Beach Pirate Fest & Mermaid Splash, Halloween Haunt, Boynton Beach

Join in the good cheer as merry pirates and mermaids hoist the Jolly Roger above Ocean Avenue in Boynton Beach for the Pirate Fest & Mermaid Splash, Halloween Haunt. But beware, swashbuckling adventures await all who enter this otherworldly street party in The Palm Beaches. 
It’s all-day entertainment with live music, pirate reenactments, magic shows, children’s activities, and interactive mermaid tanks. But there will be more when bands of buccaneers come for an epic invasion when hearties do the wheel of death, or you partake in the treasure hunt. And to refresh no need to plunder, because tasty food and beverage booths are found throughout Pirate Fest.

The Timbertech Championship, Boca Raton

Dates & Time: October 30 – November 5

The TimberTech Championship brings together golfing legends and past acclaimed players for an exciting event. This year, the tournament takes place at the Broken Sound Club’s Old Course. As part of the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs, the TimberTech Championship attracts the top 54 players in the 50-and-older circuit. Beyond being a spectator event, it also includes men and women’s Pro-Am tournaments, putting contests, and clinics. Spectators can enjoy the action from skyboxes and preferred seating. Furthermore, the TimberTech Championship is committed to sustainability as a Zero Waste event. Trash is not sent to landfills, and some waste is repurposed for TimberTech’s environmentally sustainable outdoor products, reflecting their dedication to eco-friendly practices.
