Where else would you want to hear live music than outdoors? The Palm Beaches have the best in outdoor venues – here are some of our favorites, along with who's performing at each this summer.

The Palm Beaches have it all for those in need of summer sun and musical fun, and visitors (and locals!) can celebrate the summer festival season at an array of top musical venues. From the shores of the scenic West Palm Beach waterfront to a handful of stellar outdoor concert venues, music lovers in South Florida won’t want to miss this summer lineup and the live music you can experience throughout The Palm Beaches.

SunFest, May 3-6 in West Palm Beach

Taking place annually, Florida’s largest music and arts waterfront festival returns for four days starting May 3, bringing with it some of the best international artists on the music scene. Situated in the heart of Downtown West Palm Beach’s Arts and Entertainment District, a bustling shoreline hub next to Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway, SunFest features a star-studded lineup with Pitbull, Zedd, Ice Cube, Nick Jonas and ‘80s punk-rock sensation Billy Idol.

SunFest also presents an array of art exhibitions, where artists from all over the world display their paintings, sculptures, photography and other works, plus a variety of “festival food” and floating bars.

Coral Sky Amphitheatre, West Palm Beach

The Coral Sky Amphitheatre at South Florida Fairgrounds qualifies as one of The Palm Beaches’ finest venues for music. Accommodating up to 19,000 seats, the amphitheater has played host to significant events and concerts, welcoming Tom Petty, Green Day, Kings of Leon, Lana Del Rey and The Spice Girls onto its stage, among others.

Coral Sky, which offers views of beautiful sunsets from its seats, is popular amongst music lovers and offers amazing acoustics. Concertgoers can choose from traditional seats to lawn seating; if sitting on the lawn, the venue invites you to bring along a folding chair or blanket to enjoy the show.

Expect the very best of music at the amphitheater, with scheduled performances from Foo Fighters and Kendrick Lamar taking place later this year. Summer concerts include:
  • Kendrick Lamar, May 23
  • Evanescence, August 18
  • Jeff Beck, Paul Rodgers and Ann Wilson, August 25
  • Niall Horan, September 23

Mizner Park Amphitheater, Boca Raton

Situated in the heart of Boca Raton, this state-of-the-art outdoor amphitheater and concert green is one of The Palm Beaches’ more intimate gathering spots. Accommodating 4,200 people, the amphitheater serves as a social, cultural and educational center for South Palm Beach County residents, at the same time drawing audiences from throughout South Florida and all over the world.

Open since 2002, Mizner Park Amphitheater has become one of the most popular venues in The Palm Beaches, and over the course of its time has entertained more than 1 million people. Expect the likes of trendy up-and-coming artists and special performances such as the Youth Orchestra of Palm Beach County. Upcoming concerts include:

  • Blue Oyster Cult, May 12
  • 3 Doors Down & Collective Soul: Rock & Roll Express Tour, July 10

Sunset Cove Amphitheater, Boca Raton

Blessed by stunning natural surroundings and warm summer breezes off the lakes of South County Regional Park, Sunset Cove Amphitheater is one of the county’s most distinguished arts and entertainment facilities. With its compact size, the amphitheater is one of The Palm Beaches’ smaller venues, capable of hosting up to 6,000 patrons for national acts, tribute bands, festivals, community fundraisers and cinema screenings. It houses state-of-the-art facilities, including a 1,700-square-foot stage with rear-screen projection capability, covered dining area with patio for grilling and cooking, and a spacious lawn.

This cozy venue has hosted true musical gems, including 30 Seconds to Mars and internationally renowned singer Willie Nelson.
