SunFest: Meet the Fans

Get to Know the Event from an Aficionado Traveling to The Palm Beaches for the Festivities

If the notion of live music mixed with tropical breezes on a panoramic, waterway backdrop sends you into a deep state of bliss – and we should mention the three floating bars – then book a trip to The Palm Beaches for SunFest.
Come see 50 bands, over 5 days, on 3 stages, along the downtown West Palm Beach waterfront. This year’s lineup includes plenty of big-time acts: Blink-182, Widespread Panic, Snoop Dogg, Ziggy Marley, Flo Rida, Christopher Cross, Marshmello, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
Don’t just take our word on SunFest, read why a fan and his wife are traveling to The Palm Beaches for the event. You can always see more of what real people have experienced in #ThePalmBeaches, because friends trust friends . . . not ads.
Let’s get to know our aficionado

Chris Beck and his wife, Loren Riemer, hail from one the nation’s musical capitals, Austin, Texas . . . so they know their live music.   We asked Chris about SunFest.

How did you first learn about SunFest?
I lived in West Palm Beach from 2003-2006 so I had to come back and what better way than for SunFest.
Who are you looking forward to seeing?
I am a huge Snoop Dogg fan, since 1994, and I saw him live during SXSW when he just showed up at an event and start singing Lodi Dodi. It was amazing, but he only sang one song, so SunFest was the perfect opportunity to see his full set.
This event has plenty of fantastic music, but plenty more is going on, what are some of the other cool things to do?
I went in 2004, so it's [SunFest] gotten a lot bigger since then.  Honestly, when you mix the beautiful city of West Palm Beach, Intracoastal Waterway, and live music, it doesn't get any better!  If you land passes [or buy tickets] to the hospitality lounges, you've really made it in the music festival world.

A wide range of fans gather to hear great music at Sunfest.

For first-time goers, any suggestions or tips?
Relax and enjoy the up-and-coming acts. Hydrate and keep applying sunblock.  Don't be that guy who gets fried on day one.
Downtown West Palm Beach and The Palm Beaches are a happening, tropical locale, where do you like to go before and after SunFest?
We booked the Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa on the beach, so we plan on spending a lot of time there. I also want to make sure I get on the water with a boat tour and definitely some fish tacos while in town.  I always liked to go to Sailfish Marina for dinner and drinks on the water.
