In a mesmerizing homage to Tony Bennett, Dr. Gianni Bianchini and the Type 1 Trio will be presenting the timeless music of Anthony Dominick Benedetto’s 70 year career. Dr. Bianchini and the Trio paint a vivid musical portrait that celebrates Bennett’s enduring legacy in the realm of jazz and popular music.


Dr. Gianni Bianchini is among the leading pianist, vocalist and organist in today’s jazz scene. Described as a “special talent” by Cadence magazine, Dr. Bianchini has played, recorded, toured or studied with many of jazz’s prominent artist such as; Jason Marsalis, Jimmy Bruno, Arturo Sandoval, Joshua Redman, Jeff “Tain” Watts, John Scofield, Stefon Harris, Kenny Werner, Warren Wolfe, Frank Vignola, Gil Goldstein, Pasquale Grasso, Oscar Stagnaro, Carlos Averhoff, Duffy Jackson, and countless others across from around the world. Dr. Bianchini has released multiple records as a leader and his most recent, “GOT Live!” has received high acclaim throughout the jazz community.

Dr. Bianchini has had the opportunity to study at some of the most prestigious music schools in the world. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelors degree from Berklee College of Music, a masters degree from New York University, and was awarded his Doctorate in jazz piano performance from the University of Texas. Since 2016 Dr. Bianchini has been on staff as a professor of jazz piano at Berklee College of Music’s La Universidad de San Francisco de Quito, in Ecuador.

Prior to accepting a full-time position, Dr. Bianchini taught as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas and as an Adjunct Professor at New York University.
