Chris Santiago - CHET: “The Prince of Cool”

This production aims to evoke a keen sense of an intimate and immediate ‘50s speakeasy or jazz club as it tells the engaging and spirited story of the jazz trumpeter and singer CHET BAKER. The 80-minute show rediscovers the gloriously talented Chet in the ‘50s and reveals many of his musical gems – “the blue diamonds of Jazz” – that speak of destiny, heartache, despair, and love. The charismatic young singer and trumpeter Chris Santiago is joined by pianist Hal Roland, bassist Matt Bonelli, and drummer Stever Rucker for this intimate and moving performance showcasing the songs and life of the legendary Chet Baker.
