Don’t let the lavish mansions of Jupiter fool you – locals love Jupiter, Florida, for its breathtaking natural scenery, laidback tiki bars and endless ways to play in its star attraction: the water.
Encompassing nearly 40 miles and multiple rivers, the Jupiter Waterway Trail carves out a natural playground of surfing beaches, crystal-clear inlets and lush coastal rivers waiting to reveal their secrets.
Hop in a canoe and navigate the cypress and mangrove swamps of the Loxahatchee River, one of only two rivers in Florida with a “Wild and Scenic” designation. A popular shove-off point is Riverbend Park, which also offers horse trails and hiking through Seminole Indian historic sites. Right in town, the turquoise lagoons of DuBois Park and Jupiter Beach Park are ideal for swimming, stand-up paddleboarding and snorkeling.
There’s plenty to do on dry land in Jupiter, too. Towering above the coast, the brick-red Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is one of the oldest and most iconic structures in The Palm Beaches. Climb all 105 feet to the top for a gull’s-eye view of the coast; afterwards, wear your best flip-flops to Guanabana’s, Square Grouper Tiki Bar and other low-key local favorites for fresh-caught seafood, tropical drinks and killer views (you can even arrive by boat).
Learn about local marine life at the River Center, featuring live aquatic tanks and interactive exhibits perfect for kids. Snag a diamond-side seat to Florida’s Grapefruit League during MLB spring training at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. Catch a concert at Harbourside Place, a beautiful downtown area with specialty stores and a waterside amphitheater. Or simply wiggle your toes in the sand at one of our beach resorts. In Jupiter, there’s always something to do – and plenty of enticing ways to do nothing at all.

Jupiter, Florida is primarily known for two things: its lighthouse and celebrities. Built in 1860, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum is one of the few historic lighthouses that is still in use and open to the public. This lighthouse is so beloved that the city actually celebrates its birthday each year on July 10!
In addition to its incredible lighthouse, Jupiter is also home to many celebrities. Greats like Celine Dion, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and Olivia Newton-John all had or have homes in this fancy Florida city.
Jupiter, Florida has over three miles of postcard-worthy beaches. Jupiter Beach and Jupiter Beach Park are just a couple of local favorites.
Overall, Jupiter is a relatively small town. That said, it can get pretty crowded on the weekends and during peak season (winter).

Jupiter is most easily accessible from the Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), which is just 20 miles away. There is also the option to fly into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), which is 67 miles away, or Miami International Airport (MIA), which is 88 miles away from Jupiter, Florida.
Winter is the most popular time to visit Jupiter, Florida, thanks to the more mild temperatures.
Jupiter, Florida’s story starts with the Hobe Native American Tribe, who lived in the area long before it was given the name it’s known as today. In the early 1800s, the Spanish took over, but this was quickly followed by a U.S. takeover in 1821. Finally, in 1925, the city of Jupiter was incorporated, and over the years it’s been built into the fantastic Florida beach town that it is today.
By far, the most popular attraction in Jupiter, Florida is the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. Originally built in 1860, this lighthouse has guided thousands of ships safely to shore. Today, you can climb to the top of this working lighthouse and take in the magnificent Atlantic Ocean views.
But the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse isn’t the only attraction in town that’s worth your time. Pay a visit to the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can (safely) get face-to-face with all sorts of cool animals. Bears, panthers, alligators, and otters are just the start.
