Manager, Strategic Marketing Partnerships


The primary responsibility of the Manager, Strategic Marketing Partnerships is to provide marketing support for critical partner initiatives. This position will ensure there is a consistent and focused marketing effort to elevate The Palm Beaches’ brand stature within various partner activations and initiatives. The Manager, Strategic Marketing Partnerships will report to the AVP, Integrated Marketing and collaborates with functional areas within the internal team to ensure timely and customer-centric deployment of marketing deliverables.

  • Serves as the marketing liaison between Discover the Palm Beaches (DTPB) and various internal partners (i.e.  Palm Beach International Airport, Sports Commission, Cultural Council and Film Commission) and external partners (i.e. Brightline, Honda Classic and Boca Raton Bowl, etc.) 
  • Collaborates with the AVP, Integrated Marketing to proactively develop new activation ideas that maximize the value of each strategic partnership.  Present these ideas to partners and develop action plans to implement and execute against each plan.
  • Supports new and existing local and national brand partnerships to leverage opportunities to expand DTPB brand awareness on a larger scale.
  • Proactively manages the list of ongoing projects and deliverables between DTPB and each partner.
  • Tracks all deliverables contained within each partner agreement / contract.
  • Schedules and leads regular marketing / partner meetings. Maintain and update the agenda for each meeting.
  • Provides leadership and input to creative agency on any / all partner creative projects. 
  • Ensures that the DTPB marketing team receives feedback on important initiatives.
  • Builds collaborative internal relationships with internal partners (example: Destination Development) to ensure the marketing team is delivering on partner expectations as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with other local entities such as the Business Development Board (BDB), key Chambers of Commerce as well as city specific marketing programs.
  • Provides project management support as needed for various partner projects.
  • Reviews and provide insight on the operations and competitive landscape for each partner.  Become the subject matter expert for each partner. Example: Understand all Brightline route developments and rebranding efforts – inform the team as needed.
  • Attends key partner conferences, community meetings, events, destination reviews and sales calls to improve awareness of fundamental issues impacting each of these activities.
  • Partners with specific internal team members (Marketing, Advertising, PR, Content, Digital, Email, Social Media, etc.) to ensure timelines are met and content is aligned across all verticals.
  • Connects with specific Agencies of Record as needed (i.e. Creative/Media, Digital, etc.)
  • Assists in development of the media strategy to support each partner.
  • Assists in the development of social activation ideas for each partner.  Execute as appropriate.
  • Performs regular audits of partnership assets to improve performance; present new ideas to improve visibility and ROI.
  • Leverages Business Intelligence (i.e. industry reports) to support decisions; understand key trends within the industry.

The successful candidate will be results-oriented, self-directed and well organized; will have the ability to establish and shift priorities in a dynamic environment and possess at a minimum, the following qualifications:

  • BA (4-year degree) in business, marketing, hospitality at a minimum
  • 3 + years’ experience in a marketing role, ideally in a partnership capacity
  • Additional experience in travel, tourism or hospitality a plus
  • Working knowledge of project management
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects across various channels
  • Ability to set up process and standard operating procedures
  • Awareness and understanding of destination promotion and the domestic travel, tourism and hospitality industries
  • Skilled in thinking proactively and consistently bringing new ideas forward. 
  • Extensive experience with latest suite of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to multi-task at various stages within the organization
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy and the ability to motivate teams while thriving in a collaborative environment
  • Must demonstrate a positive and flexible attitude
