Outdoor Event Spaces for Winter (Yes, Winter)

November 15, 2019

Want to boost attendance numbers at your next event? Give your groups an extra incentive to gather in Florida this winter: Warm, rejuvenating weather.

Whether your attendees are fighting ice and snow or freezing temperatures, it’s difficult to pass up an opportunity to relish mild, sunny days while accomplishing business objectives. The Palm Beaches offer just that opportunity, with average temperatures hovering in the mid- to high 70s throughout December, January and February.

When you bring your group to The Palm Beaches, attendees don’t have to wait until after hours to enjoy the perfect weather. The region offers a number of outdoor event spaces that are seemingly made for winter events, so you can incorporate warmth and the South Florida sunshine into your meeting and event schedule.

Check out some of these outdoor venues to heat up your winter events:

Drive Shack

New in 2019, Drive Shack offers five virtual-reality golf courses, including a re-creation of PGA National, along with a sports bar, restaurant, retro arcade game room and third-floor outdoor terrace. Groups can practice their golf rounds, enjoy playing together and soak in the mild temperatures while enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres outdoors. Drive Shack welcomes groups from 10 to 1,500 people and has the latest in AV technology for any meeting needs.

Yachts

The ocean is the centerpiece of South Florida, and visitors love opportunities to take to the seas. Host a breakout session on the water, with one of the many yachts or boats available for charter or rental in The Palm Beaches. Your group can learn, socialize, dine and enjoy entertainment onboard a luxury yacht while soaking up breathtaking views of destinations such as Peanut Island or the Lake Worth Lagoon.

Lion Country Safari

At America’s first drive-through wildlife preserve, attendees can get up close to zebras, giraffes, lions, rhinos and numerous other wild animals. Along with visiting the preserve and amusement park, groups can gather at the venue’s 4,000-square-foot pavilion and one-acre, multi-use field. It’s an ideal location for an outdoor event during winter — or anytime of the year.

National Croquet Center

The world’s largest dedicated croquet facility, the National Croquet Center has a 19,000-square-foot clubhouse designed in the Florida Keys style and surrounded by four acres of delicate, near-perfect croquet lawns. Hundreds of participants can play croquet at one time, so it’s a perfect location for an outdoor event that includes time for play. The center has a full-sized kitchen and a full bar, and is home to SandyJames Fine Food and Productions, with all the experience and expertise to help you organize the perfect event for your group.

International Polo Club Palm Beach

Wintertime is the best time for polo in The Palm Beaches. The world’s premier polo destination, the International Polo Club Palm Beach hosts the largest field of teams and the most prestigious polo tournaments in the United States. Polo matches are open to the public, and polo enthusiasts flock to the facility each winter season to enjoy the sport in its most prominent facility. Groups can rent out the fields for their own use or enjoy a match together, with a wide range of hospitality and guest seating, field-side Champagne and dining, and exclusive box seating.
