Miami Visitors, Residents Invited to Take the Lilly Pulitzer Brightline Train to Discover The Palm Beaches During Super Bowl LIV Week

Lilly Pulitzer Train, Buses and Taxis as well as Photo Op of Famous Palm Beach Architecture Designed to Inspire Residents and Visitors to Seek Respite in The Palm Beaches

Brightline Train at Station

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 27, 2020) – Super Bowl LIV might be in Miami, but The Palm Beaches are bringing their panache, colorful history and welcoming vibe down south to inspire residents and visitors in town during the Big Game week. Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB), the official tourism marketing organization for Palm Beach County, is offering the chance to escape Miami’s hustle and bustle by taking the Lilly Pulitzer Brightline Train to discover The Palm Beaches.

Now through April 2, 2020, the high-speed train connecting Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and soon Orlando and Boca Raton will be wrapped in Lilly Pulitzer print – a nod to the brand born in 1950s Palm Beach, which began as a way for the local hostess and socialite to camouflage citrus stains while she operated her juice stand. Fans of the popular resortwear brand might want to take note of the prints on display, Coral Bay and Aqua La Vista, which are debuting shortly in the spring 2020 collection.

The Palm Beaches continue to come to life at Brightline’s Virgin MiamiCentral station. DTPB has unveiled a replica of one of Palm Beach’s most iconic – and Instagram-worthy – architectural elements; the photo op will be positioned in the station’s lobby through April 2, 2020. The “blue door” is an example of the European influence found along world-renowned Worth Avenue and its famed vias and will serve as an educational photo op for passersby in the station.

Those traveling by bus or taxi during the Big Game week also have an opportunity to get in on The Palm Beaches-inspired fun. Six buses and 35 taxis decked out in an all-new Lilly Pulitzer print hit the streets on January 22 and will continue to service those in Miami/South Beach through February 4, 2020. The print, titled “In Full Bloom,” will be available in stores and online on February 2. Visitors to MiamiCentral station as well as riders of The Palm Beaches-branded public transportation are encouraged to capture and share their experiences on social media, tagging @PalmBeachesFL and using the hashtag #ThePalmBeaches, for a chance to be featured on DTPB’s official channels.

“With Super Bowl LIV in our backyard, we’re expanding our celebrations to offer everyone in South Florida a taste of our storied past, culture and wellness-driven spirit, while inspiring them to discover more by taking the one-hour train ride up from Miami,” said Jorge Pesquera, president and CEO of Discover The Palm Beaches. “From the historic landmark properties and unparalleled service that made Palm Beach America’s First Resort Destination, to 47 miles of pristine, uncrowded beaches and myriad award-winning golf courses, we encourage visitors to pregame in The Palm Beaches with a little R&R.”

The collective investment between DTPB, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission and the Tourist Development Council (TDC) represents a targeted and thoughtful effort to increase visitation to The Palm Beaches during one of the world’s biggest sporting events, whose attendance base comprises highly discerning and affluent travelers.
