Equestrian & Polo

When it’s winter everywhere else, it’s polo and equestrian season here – and one of the best times to be in The Palm Beaches.

The National Polo Center in Wellington, one of the world’s largest polo clubs, attracts top athletes and enthusiastic spectators who flock to the club for festive field-side brunches and non-stop fun in the sun during Palm Beach International Polo Season. Over 17 exciting weeks, the world’s premier players and ponies gather to compete in the biggest tournaments in the sport, including the Gauntlet of Polo™. Capping off the season is the International Gay Polo Tournament, which brings top Gay Polo League players and fans together for a weekend of grand horsemanship, elaborate tailgates and plenty of free-flowing champagne.

Each January through April, the prestigious Winter Equestrian Festival takes place at the nearby Wellington International . Riders from 2 to 70 years old, from Olympians to amateurs, compete for millions in prizes atop more than 6,000 highly trained horses. The center is a sight to behold with more than 18 competition arenas on 500 acres of purely equestrian-focused grounds. The festival draws riders from every state and 52 countries, as well as 250,000 spectators over the 13-week event.

So grab your friends and your favorite floppy sun hat, and get ready for some horse play, Palm Beaches style.
