Outdoor Recreation

Year-Round Fun in the Florida Sun

The Palm Beaches are the perfect place to put your feet up—or in a pair of snorkel fins, on a stand-up paddleboard, or into golf shoes on our world-class greens. Outdoor activities abound for visitors of every age, interest, and ability level. Soak up the Florida sun, check out some seriously idyllic sights and explore the greatest outdoors of them all (if we do say so ourselves).

By Sea
With 47 miles of pristine coastline, your only dilemma will be deciding which water activities to choose. Get your pulse racing with a high-speed boat tour, Jet Ski rental, or flyboarding experience. Slow things down on a kayak, canoe, or stand-up paddleboard with Visit Palm Beach in our calm coastal inlets or cypress-shaded inland rivers. Or, join one of our many fishing charters and head out to the Gulf Stream in search of the big one (they don’t call this Sailfish Alley for anything).

Go deeper and explore the third-largest barrier reef system in the world on a snorkeling or diving excursion. Swim alongside sea turtles and tropical fish at Phil Foster Park Snorkel Trail, Peanut Island, or Coral Cove Park in Tequesta. Experienced divers can venture further out to underwater caves, historic shipwrecks, and even a vintage Rolls-Royce.

By Land
There are plenty of ways to play on dry land, too. As Florida’s Golf Capital®, The Palm Beaches boast more than 150 bucket list-worthy golf courses. The National Croquet Center is the world’s largest dedicated croquet facility, while the Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center offers 18 hydro-grid clay courts for the day- and nighttime play. Or explore our hundreds of hiking and biking trails, taking you everywhere from Everglades swamplands to the backyards of Palm Beach’s grandest mansions.  The Palm Beaches also has a wide variety of parks and gardens and many are free to explore.
