The organization works with people with disabilities—both kids and adults—providing remarkable services, continuing education, rights advocacy, loving care, and family support. They strive to assist all their clients become independent and active members of their family and community. Volunteer Opportunities: The Arc of Palm Beach County has over 15 programs from early childhood into adulthood, which allows for a vast variety of choices for people looking to make a difference. Their volunteer opportunities can accommodate small and large groups at a variety of different locations and offices.

2. Quantum House

Quantum House provides a home for families while their children are being treated for a critical illness or injury in Palm Beach County. Volunteer Opportunities: Quantum House’s volunteer opportunities include outdoor activities (such as crafts or family game days) or the Chef For a Day program, which ensures families have access to a meal.

3. Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful

Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful organizes cleans ups beautifying projects, volunteer-based beautification events such as the International Coastal Cleanup in the Fall and the Great American Cleanup every Spring in Palm Beach County, and more. ​Volunteer Opportunities: Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful is always looking for volunteers willing to supper their local cleanup and beautification initiatives throughout the year.

Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County partners with families in need to build affordable homes together. Thanks to the organization’s help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families. Volunteer Opportunities: Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County organizes team building experiences for companies that want to give back to the community. Volunteers will spend the day on the construction site working together to help future homeowners achieve their dream of home ownership. Habitat for Humanity provides all tools, materials, instruction, and supervision from their experienced staff.

5. Living Hungry

Living Hungry is a charity that provides nutrition products and logistical solutions to feed the children. The organization fuels children not just to overcome poverty barriers, but mainly to unleash success stories. Volunteer Opportunities: Living Hungry provides memorable experiences to feed hungry homeless children with a packing event for conferences or meetings at the PBC Convention Center or any venue of your choice.

6. Clean The World

Clean The World aims at improving global health and prevent both waste and hygiene-related illnesses. As the largest global recycler of hotel soaps and bottled amenities, Clean The World recycles hygiene amenities from travel partners worldwide. Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteer opportunities with Clean The World include hosting an At-Home Hygiene Kit Build. The Soap Saves Lives Box contains life-saving hygiene products that can be assembled and distributed to a local charity, to a church or to a neighbor in need. Businesses and meeting planners can sponsor Soap Saves Lives Boxes for their employees or group.

7. The Lord’s Place

Striving to end homelessness, The Lord’s Place provides innovative, compassionate, and effective services to men, women, and children in our community. The organization’s goal is to provide programs that assist their clients in finding their path, which leads to a place called home. Volunteer Opportunities: The Lord’s Place’s volunteers support programs, campuses, events, and social enterprises including Joshua Thrift Store and Joshua Deli. Volunteers provides homeless people with esteem-building, pro-social and educational activities.

8. St. George’s Center

The aim of St. George’s Center is to ensure that individuals and families are self-sufficient and meet their basic human needs. Volunteer Opportunities: St. George’s Center highly depends on the generosity of volunteers who help the staff meet the daily needs of their homeless neighbors. Every year, over 800 regular, seasonal, and one-time people volunteer for St. George’s Center.

9. Education Foundation of Palm Beach County

Founded in 1984, the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County (EFPBC) serves the schools, teachers, and students in the School District of Palm Beach County. The organization supports high-quality public education through partnerships and community collaborations, grants, events, scholarships, and public awareness.  Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County make a difference in the lives of today’s students as they grow to become tomorrow’s leaders. You can volunteer one time or on a regular basis or as a team building experience.

10. Place of Hope

Place of Hope is a faith-based, state licensed organization that offers housing and support services with the aim of ending the cycles of abuse, neglect, homelessness, poverty, and human trafficking. Volunteer Opportunities: Place of Hope always needs people who are willing to volunteer their time and skills in any area. You can help with mentoring, meals preparation or purchase, tutoring, clothing organization and more. The organization accepts individual volunteers, small groups, and large corporate teams.

11. Friends of Foster Children

Friends of Foster Children’s goal is to foster happy childhoods and overcome the effects of child abuse and neglect by enriching lives impacted by foster care.  Volunteer Opportunities: Friends of Foster Children offer several volunteer opportunities, including supporting the staff during events, and helping sort, hang and distribute items in their clothing closet.

12. Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County

The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County is committed to ensuring that every resident of Palm Beach County is able to read. The mission of the organization is to improve the quality of life in our community by promoting and achieving literacy. Volunteer Opportunities: The coalition offers several volunteer options, such as Read with Me sessions (volunteers read one-to-one with elementary school students), Corporate/Group Reading Days (volunteers read to a class of students and follow up with a related activity), Book Drives creation, Adult Essay Initiative (review essays written by adult education students), and more.
