Where to Eat With Kids: The Best Restaurants for Families

As a true world-class dining destination, The Palm Beaches boast incredible and diverse restaurant options for all budgets and ages.

The Palm Beaches are a true world-class dining destination, with incredible and diverse restaurant options for all budgets and ages. That includes children! Families can eat really well here at restaurants that have something to keep everyone happy. Here are 10 great kid-friendly restaurants in The Palm Beaches.

1. Delray Beach Market Sometimes a family just can’t agree on what to eat for a meal. Enter the candy-colored Delray Beach Market food hall, filled with more than 20 food vendors running the gamut from pizza slices (Salvo’s) and pasta (Sorella’s) to tacos (Vote for Pedro New York), Peruvian rotisserie chicken (La Casona Peruvian Cuisine), all manner of homemade sausage (Alpine 210 Sausage), and so much more. There’s plenty of dessert to be found here too, and a roster of events that includes live music and occasional games and classes.  Location: 33 SE 3rd Ave, Delray Beach

2. Riggins Crabhouse Located in Lantana, Riggins is unsurprisingly wonderful for fans of crab—you’ll find everything from Florida stone crabs to East Coast blues and Dungeness, snow, and king crabs—and many kids will enjoy getting messy with some interactive pounding and cracking of delicious Maryland-style steamed crabs. But there’s tons on the menu besides crab, including pastas, steaks, burgers, grilled fish, and a dedicated kids menu. There’s also opportunity to try some Florida favorites here, like gator bites, smoked fish dip, frog legs, and, of course, key lime pie for dessert.  Location: 607 Ridge Rd., Lantana

3. Benny’s On The Beach Right on the sands of Lake Worth Beach, Benny’s makes for a great, easy lunch spot on a family beach day. But even if you’re not sunbathing, eating here immediately gives you vacation vibes, especially on the outdoor dining deck that extends pier-like down the beach. The menu is lengthy and reflects the beachy atmosphere, with peel ‘n’ eat shrimp, fish tacos, crab cake sandwiches, lots of salads and burgers, and lots more. Since Benny’s is popular at all times of the day, there are separate kids menus for breakfast and lunch/dinner. The latter covers the basics of hot dog, chicken strips, fish fingers, and so on, but also adds a lighter roast turkey on a challah bun, plus a choice of fries, rice, veggies, or fruit on the side. Don’t miss the nearby playground for a post-meal treat!  Location: 10 S. Ocean Blvd, Lake Worth Beach

4. Howley’s Comfort food, ‘50s décor, counter seating, cool local art, and a juke box are among the fun pleasures of this retro diner in West Palm Beach (which actually opened in 1950!). The expansive menu runs from breakfast to dinner and dessert, and while there’s a separate kids menu, there are plenty of shareable options here off the regular menu too. While waiting for a table, families can practice their mini golf skills on the putting green out front.  Location: 4700 S Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach

5. Duffy’s Sports Grill Children are greeted with coloring sheets and crayons at this friendly sports grill, which has a few locations in the area. There’s a kids menu, of course, but you may not even have to use it: The wide-ranging menu is sure to please the whole family, between the giant pretzels and onion-ring tower, the burgers, ribs, wings, fish tacos, and salads. Family meal deals, which serve four to six people, are another option. Helpfully, Duffy’s menus label what’s vegetarian and where a gluten-sensitive option is available. For dessert it’s gotta be a chocolate brownie sundae!  Location: 225 Clematis St., West Palm Beach

6. Grimaldi’s Right in the open-air Downtown Palm Beach Gardens shopping mall, in the midst of some fabulous shopping and conveniently downstairs from CMX Cinemas Downtown 16, this local branch of the iconic NYC pizzeria makes an ideal meal stop for families. First there’s the delicious pizza—it’s famous for a reason. It’s legitimate coal-fired, brick-oven, thin-crust pizza, and people of all ages love it. Then, there’s the roomy space, with lots of tables both inside and out. As a bonus, kids can request pizza dough to play with at the table! Post-meal, families should check out the recently refurbished (and relocated) waterfront carousel in the mall.  Location: 11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave., Palm Beach Gardens

7. Two George’s Waterfront Grille This sprawling, lively seafood-heavy restaurant perched on top of the Intracoastal Waterway has been a Boynton Beach staple for more than 60 years. Kids love watching the boat activity along the Intracoastal and the many catfish that swim under the restaurant’s dock–you can even feed them while you wait for your table (bring quarters for the machine). They’ll also enjoy the swinging outdoor tables, which are great for groups of four to six. As for the food, there’s lots of variety here, spanning locally caught fish, pasta dishes, ribs, sandwiches, tacos, and a dedicated kids menu.  Location: 728 Casa Loma Blvd., Boynton Beach

8. Lynora’s A family-owned casual Italian restaurant with a couple of local branches, Lynora’s never fails to please families with its delicious pizza, pastas, sandwiches, and more. The kids’ pasta menu is great, the happy hour deals extend to food, there are $12.95 lunch specials, and every Monday is “Meatball Monday”: $3 meatballs, $10 Margherita pies, and $7 classic martinis for the adults.  Location: 207 Clematis St., West Palm Beach

9. Dune Dog Café Up in Jupiter, this colorful, beach-casual classic has a fun (and expansive) menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, fish and seafood, wings, ribs, and more. There are tons of options for children on the regular menu, but the “puppy menu” offers some favorite kid foods together with waffle fries, a drink, and ice cream. Huge bonus for families: On Wednesdays after 4pm, kids eat for just 99 cents. Around the same time (3pm-6pm weekdays) you can score 99-cent wings during happy hour.  Location: 775 N. Alt. A1A, Jupiter

10. Sloan’s Since its first shop opened in West Palm Beach in 1999, Sloan’s has expanded to five locations in The Palm Beaches, and a slew of national and even international franchises. But the creative homemade ice cream flavors, sundaes, shakes, fudge, candy, and more that await at Sloan’s remain nostalgic to many in this area and continue to enchant visitors. The whimsical décor, colorful walls, and “magical” glass bathrooms that grace some of the locations never fail to impress little ones!  Location: 700 S. Rosemary Ave #138, West Palm Beach
