Dinner with Atmosphere

A meal with great style as well as great food makes for a memorable dining experience

When it comes to a truly memorable dining experience, style is often as important as substance. A truly superb restaurant experience is not complete without an exceptional atmosphere to savor and enjoy. From punk-rock cool to peculiar panache, here is a list of unique restaurants in The Palm Beaches for you to enjoy.     Rebel House- Boca Raton, Fla.

Located on East Palmetto Park Road in downtown Boca Raton, is the burlesque meets rocker-circus restaurant and bar, Rebel House. Upon entry, guests are greeted by a headless statue with fishnets and a bustier. The booths and chairs are bright red, and the lighting is low making the atmosphere oddly intimate. The food adds to the strange yet cool vibe of the restaurant with items like “The Brutus” on the dinner menu, ‘Dirty South’ Bloody Mary for brunch, and Kimchee Fried Rice for lunch. The spontaneous live rock bands and the cocktail concoctions draw in the crowds, but it is the “bad-boy” feeling you get when you arrive that keeps guests coming back.   Salt 7- Delray Beach, Fla.

A Sunday morning in The Palm Beaches means “brunch” can’t be too far away. However, if one desires a purely unique approach to brunch, then Salt 7 on Atlantic Avenue is the place to be. What starts off as a seemingly normal brunch (white table cloths, mimosas, and pancakes), soon changes into an array of laser beams, strobe lights and fog. Salt 7, a popular restaurant by day and a night club by night, decided to collide its two personas into an unforgettable brunch experience. With a DJ playing the latest in club hits, and a flashy dancing robot, the atmosphere is anything but boring.   Taboo- Palm Beach, Fla.

If the Great Gatsby were a restaurant, it would definitely be Taboo. Located off of Worth Avenue, Taboo is a classy bistro and bar that makes guests feel as though they stepped into one of the finest speakeasies of the Gatsby era. Intricately laced wooden panels and carved out doorways bring a 1920s charm, while the black and white striped booths give it a modern feel. The perfect spot to grab lunch in-between shopping, Taboo repeats the past in the best of ways.   Guanabanas- Jupiter, Fla.

Experience a tropical island getaway without having to leave the county! Located off of A1A in Jupiter, Guanabanas is a Tiki-hut style restaurant that brings “A Taste of Paradise” to the area. The outdoor seating is nestled within an array of palm trees, and the restaurant itself is what one would imagine the Swiss Family Robinson resided in. Guanabanas sits on the water with a view of the Intracoastal, adding to the tropical theme. With delicious island dishes and live music, Guanabanas is truly a must see when in Palm Beach.   Renato’s- Palm Beach, Fla.

Ever wanted to step into a Wes Anderson film? Well at Renato’s, guests get pretty close to it. Hidden in Palm Beach off of Via Mizner, is the quaint indoor/ outdoor Italian restaurant that has a curious sophistication about it. The intimately lit outdoor patio is tucked in a quiet corridor surrounded by upscale shops. The inside dining room, with its mirrored ceiling, red and gold accented wallpaper, and pristine dining sets; is the perfect example of refined extravagance. If you want to feel fantastic, royal, or might we say, grand, Renato’s is worth the visit.
