Subtropic Film Festival

Subtropic Film Festival returns November 7–9, 2025, with a full weekend of film, conversation, and community at two key venues: the Norton Museum of Art and Afflux Studios at GStar Studios.

The festival opens on Friday, November 7, at the Norton with a red carpet premiere as a part of the Museum’s weekly Art After Dark program, showcasing new films and welcoming filmmakers, artists, and audiences from across South Florida and other regions. The evening continues with an after-party to celebrate the start of the weekend.

New this year, Subtropic is thrilled to announce an expanded collaboration with the Norton Museum: a second day of programming at the Norton will take place on Saturday, November 8, featuring an additional screening and special conversations in one of South Florida’s hottest new film destinations.

Programming continues throughout the weekend at Afflux Studios with a mix of short film screenings, workshops, filmmaker panels, and a special presentation from South Florida PBS, sponsored by the Rickel Foundation. Subtropic will also unveil exciting new partnerships and a few surprises along the way, showcasing the brilliant future of filmmaking in South Florida.
