Juno Beach - Animal Encounters

A major sea turtle nesting ground, this quiet town is a wildlife lover’s paradise.

Each May through October, thousands of loggerheads, leatherbacks and other sea turtles build their nests into the sandy dunes of Juno Beach, making this charming small town one of the largest sea turtle nesting grounds anywhere in the U.S. You can come face to face with these fascinating reptiles at Loggerhead Marinelife Center, a research and education facility located right on the beach where you can visit rehabilitating turtles and even take part in a turtle walk or hatchling release. And if you happen to be here in late March, be sure to put the ever-popular TurtleFest on your itinerary.
