WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.Nov. 1, 2024 – The Palm Beach County Tourist Development Council (TDC) announced the launch of a comprehensive 20-year “Love The Palm Beaches Tourism Master Plan” (TMP) in conjunction with its agencies: Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB), the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, and the Palm Beach County Film & Television Commission. This visionary plan is being developed in collaboration with CSL, a leading professional consulting firm, following unanimous approval of the firm’s support by the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners. The plan aims to ensure the long-term success of the local tourism industry.

The TMP aims to balance the destination’s economic vision, tourism assets, stakeholders’ interests, and visitor demand. It will serve as a roadmap to identify and guide unique products and experiences that will enhance Palm Beach County’s appeal as a premier travel destination. The plan will focus on several key areas, taking into account the input of community stakeholders to analyze and prioritize the most pressing issues facing The Palm Beaches.

“The consistent annual increase in visitors to our destination underscores the urgent need for this comprehensive ‘Love The Palm Beaches Tourism Master Plan’,” said Emanuel Perry, executive director of the TDC. “This plan will ensure that our residents continue to enjoy the benefits of living in paradise while maintaining a robust local economy supported by tourism.”

Milton Segarra, president and CEO of DTPB, added, “Ultimately, the ‘Love The Palm Beaches Tourism Master Plan’ will be the cornerstone of our destination’s longevity, so we can continue to offer an exceptional experience to our guests while preserving the quality of life and quality of place for our local community. Through the process, we will take a groundbreaking step towards creating a shared tourism vision that benefits all who live and work in The Palm Beaches.”

The TMP will incorporate the following:

Those who would like to participate in the process of creation are invited to sign up to join the Future Forward TMP key stakeholder list at www.PBCTourismPlan.com.

In addition, DTPB sought to educate local residents and stakeholders about the importance of tourism in the community by creating its first-ever video emphasizing the value of tourism advocacy. The video was designed to engage residents, businesses, community leaders, and elected officials. Through strong visuals, it highlights the economic impact of tourism on Palm Beach County while showcasing the broader benefits of local tourism to a wider audience.

“During this process of creating the TMP, we are committed to fostering a collaborative environment where the voices of residents, businesses, and visitors are heard and valued,” said Segarra. “The plan will be a cornerstone in our efforts to create a thriving tourism industry that benefits everyone who lives and visits here, as it marks a significant step forward in ensuring that The Palm Beaches remain a top destination.”
