With more than 200 rides and 1,000 exhibitors, The South Florida Fair draws in hundreds of thousands of locals and tourists alike over its 17-day span. In 2018, dozens of big-name concerts rocked the fair scene including Grammy winner Matthew West, Grand Funk Railroad, Chris Lane, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.  Visitors can look forward to varied experiences including live music performances, carnival games, and amusement rides, livestock viewing, and Instagram-worthy food such as doughnut burgers, funnel cakes, corn dogs, deep-fried sweets, and more during the destination’s winter months.

DOWNTON ABBEY: THE EXHIBITION
November 10, 2018, through April 22, 2019
West Palm Beach, Florida
Downton Abbey: The Exhibition, which is based on the beloved television show, transports fans of the show to post-Edwardian England, where the characters and the iconic house scenes come to life. At the exhibit, visitors will be immersed in the fascinating social history, culture, and some of the most memorable moments from the show’s six-season run. They can also view detailed costumes and sets from the series. For Street Art Lovers: LAKE WORTH STREET PAINTING February 23 through February 24, 2019, Lake Worth, Florida Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, attendees can watch more than 600 chalk artists as they transform the paved streets of Lake Worth into their temporary canvas. Over two days, visitors can enjoy the diverse variety of large-scale traditional, contemporary, and 3-D murals for free. TWISTED: PATRICK DOUGHERTY ENTWINED AT MOUNTS BOTANICAL GARDEN
January 26 through Summer 2019
West Palm Beach, Florida
North Carolina-based artist Patrick Dougherty will bring his talents to the Mounts Botanical Garden later this month, as he assembles his latest Stickwork creation. Combining both his carpentry skills and love of nature, Mr. Dougherty will transform 30,000 lbs. of willow from a nursery in Fredonia, New York into an enchanting form of art. Throughout the last 30 years, Mr. Dougherty has built more than 250 of these works, which have been seen from Scotland and Japan to Brussels, and the United States – including two Florida gardens (McKee Botanical in Melbourne and Pinecrest Gardens in Miami) and his recent massive project at Cincinnati’s Taft Museum of Art. The exhibit will be a welcome addition to Mount Botanical Gardens’ 14-acre living plant museum and its 25 unique garden areas.

RUNNING WILD – 3RD ANNUAL – RUN FOR THE NATURAL AREAS 5K TRAIL RUN

In conjunction with the 3rd annual Natural Areas Festival, Run for the Natural Areas 5K Trail Run at Winding Waters Natural Area aims to showcase the Palm Beach County Natural Areas that the citizens voted to preserve. The course itself will be along a trail around the restored wetland, which offers scenic views of the teeming plant and animal life. Winding Waters is a natural area containing a diverse abundance of habitats and birdlife.
