10 Best Places to Celebrate National Margarita Day in The Palm Beaches

10 Best Places to Celebrate National Margarita Day in The Palm Beaches

Enjoy a cool refreshing margarita on a hot, sunny day in The Palm Beaches!

Every February 22, we celebrate National Margarita Day to pay homage to the popular Mexican cocktail made with triple sec, tequila, and lime juice. Since margaritas pair very well with South Florida’s heat, we have rounded up 10 Mexican restaurants serving the best margaritas in our area! Perk: This year February 22 falls on a Tuesday – meaning that you can also take advantage of the Taco Tuesday offers!

1. Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar

Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar is a popular Mexican restaurant with eight locations around South and Central Florida … And four of them are in The Palm Beaches! Check it out in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, and West Palm Beach – the original and first location to be opened. The cocktail menu boasts more than 10 different margaritas ranging from the classic House Margarita to the spicy Jalapeño Margarita. Our favorite? The Strawberry Basil Margarita, made with Herradura Silver, fresh strawberries, fresh basil, fresh squeezed lime juice, and agave nectar – a refreshing cocktail that pairs well with South Florida’s heat! And if you don’t like the classic salty glass rim, order the sugar option! Margaritas aside, Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar also offers a wide variety of other cocktails, sangria pitchers, beers, and probably the best guacamole you can get anywhere! On Tuesdays you get unlimited tacos for $18.99, margaritas/shots for $6, margarita pitchers for $16, and Mexican draft beers for $4.

2. Calaveras Cantina

Voted one of the best tequila bars in Palm Beach County, Calaveras Cantina offers innovative margaritas and many other delicious cocktails. All their sour mixes are made fresh daily, and all their produce is sourced locally whenever possible. The long margarita list includes anything from the classic cocktail to fruity alternatives to spicy options. One of the most popular ones is the signature margarita Salma’s Snake Dance, made with Habanero infused tequila, fresh pressed watermelon juice, and served in a “One Of A Kind” Salma Tiki Mug. The food is also superb. Taste the distinctive flavors of Mexico in a bowl of savory Guacamole made fresh in front of you or order the Duck Confit Empanadas for a unique culinary experience.  Every Monday, Calaveras Cantina offers margaritas for $5, and on Tuesdays all tacos are only $3! Calaveras Cantina is located in Boca Raton and Jupiter.

3. Los Pancho’s Tacos & Tequila Bar

Opened in 2020, Los Pancho’s Tacos & Tequila Bar brings authentic Mexican cocktails and food to downtown Lake Worth. The family-owned restaurant is inspired by Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa, a food and tequila lover. The drink menu includes more than a dozen different margaritas, which you can get with a salt, sugar, or cinnamon glass rim! Los Pancho’s offers $5 margaritas every Monday, while on Fridays, classic margarita pitchers are only $24.95. And on Tuesdays, you’ll save 50% on your tacos! Los Pancho’s also boasts the largest selection of endless brunch cocktails in South Florida. The brunch takes place every Saturday from 11am to 3pm and features live music until 2pm.

4. Banko Cantina

Banko Cantina is a Tex Mex Taco & Tequila Bar in downtown West Palm Beach, only a few steps away from Clematis Street. It is housed in a three-story 1921 landmark building which was originally home to the American National Bank. In 1997, the building was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. On the third floor, you’ll find a rooftop with a bar and a DJ station. For Taco Tuesday, the restaurant offers select margarita pitchers for $25, $3 regular tacos, $4 birria tacos, and $5 lobster tacos. Banko is also known for its Sunday brunches with bottomless mimosas for $19 and a DJ on the rooftop… The Sunday party goes on until 9pm!

5. Rivales Taqueria

Also located in downtown West Palm Beach, Rivales Taqueria has been serving tasty cocktails, tacos, and more since 2014. Their margaritas are made from scratch with freshly homemade purée and sour mixes. The house margaritas are only $5 on Mondays and every day from 4pm to 7pm. Pair your cocktail with authentic Mexican dishes, including homemade tacos, burritos, quesadillas, chimichangas, and tostadas. All dishes are made only with local produce and organic non-GMO, non-hormone, and preservative free meats. The restaurant has a cheerful atmosphere with murals and a graffiti wall that you can sign!

6. Duke’s Tacos & Margs

This 1-year-old margaritas and tacos spot located in Jupiter offers a selection of margs for all palates and for all budgets. If you really want to spoil yourself, order the 50 Dollar Margarita made with Casa Dragones Anejo, lime, Grand Mariner 100, and agave. Alternatively, try the house margarita for $10 or order a pitcher for $35. And if you like your margaritas with some flavors, try the Strawberry Fields with Epsolon Blanco, muddled strawberries, lime, rose, and foam, or the Jupiter Queen, with Union Mezcal, sangrita, pineapple juice, and smoked sea salt.  Besides alcohol, the menu includes also various food options from classic fajitas bowls to Americanized dishes such as cheeseburger tacos. The weekly events’ schedule starts with Margarita Monday, and continues with Taco Tuesday and Karaoke, Wednesday Open Mic Night, Friday Happy Hour, Saturday Late Night Hip Hop DJ, and Sunday Bottomless Brunch.

7. Avocado Cantina

With hand-painted floor and ceiling murals, colorful décor, an open-air space, and views of the kitchen, Avocado Cantina in Palm Beach Gardens is a heavenly venue to sip the perfect margarita and taste high-quality traditional Mexican cuisine. You can make your own craft margarita by choosing your favorite combination of tequila, flavors, and add-ons. Pitchers range from $43 for the classic margarita to $49 for the avocado margarita or paloma margarita. The food menu includes various Mexican classic dishes prepared with seasonal and sustainable ingredients. A vegan menu is also available. On Tuesdays, all tacos are $4, and house margaritas are $8.

8. Las Catrinas Mexican and Tequila Bar

Located in Delray Beach, Las Catrinas Mexican and Tequila Bar offers authentic and affordable drinks and food prepared with local ingredients. Pick your favorite margarita from the long list available, featuring anything from the Catrina Classic margarita to Kiwi-Mint margarita to the more innovative El Chapo, made with Clase Azul Reposado, Grand Marnier, fresh orange, and lime. Signature margaritas are half price on Thursdays and $5 dollars on Fridays. On Saturday, buy one margarita and get the second one for half price. And if you’re hungry, check out their food menu and try out classic favorites such as burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, and tacos ($19.95 unlimited tacos on Tuesdays).

9. El Camino

El Camino is more than a Mexican restaurant. With an extremely large collection of tequila and mezcal, El Camino is also a venue where guests are invited to explore the finer tastes of tequila, going beyond the stereotype of this spirit as a cheap party mixer. The menu includes very peculiar margaritas with some unusual combinations of ingredients, such as the Guava-Habanero, which includes Reposado tequila, habanero agave, fresh lime, and guava nectar; or the Spicy Avocado made with Blanco tequila, Combier, avocado, jalapeño, and fresh lime. On Mondays, classic margaritas are $3 all day. El Camino is located in Delray Beach, with a second venue coming soon to West Palm Beach.

10. Bodega Taqueria y Tequila

Bodega is a tacos and tequila spot with six different locations in South Florida. The West Palm Beach location is conveniently located on Clematis Street and offers $13 margaritas or $45 margarita pitchers, nearly 20 different types of tequila, and over-the-top Mexican street food. Some of our favorite margaritas include the Pico Picante made with Teremana Blanco, Ilegal Joven, cucumber, cilantro, jalapeño, and lime; and La Diablita made with Don Julio Blanco, apricot, blackberry, ginger, and lime. Bodega was also voted best tacos in Florida by USA Today. Definitely worth a stop!
