International Gay Polo Tournament, Wellington

When: April 4-6

Held at the Patagones Polo Club in Wellington, North America’s only high goal polo venue, the International Gay Polo Tournament draws top GPL players and avid spectators from around the globe for a weekend of grand horseplay. Mixing one part serious competition and one part lighthearted party, this event is all about sharing a love for adventure, fun and the challenging sport of polo. Created to generate awareness and to move the needle forward for LGBTQ athletes, the event works to ensure athletes not only have the same opportunities, but also a safe place to learn, grow and excel in their sport.

Blooming in the Garden, Jupiter

When: Apr 6, 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Join the River Center for their Bloomin’ in the Garden Orogram, designed for children ages 3-6. This month’s theme is Lucky Ladybugs! The program will start at 10:00 am with story time and a nature-themed craft. Then, participants will move to the garden for exploration and hands-on fun. When it’s time to go home, children will receive seed to take home to start their own garden! So don’t miss this exciting chance for you and your little ones to enjoy nature together!

This activity is outside, so dress comfortably and be ready to possibly get a little messy.

All equipment will be provided and this program is free of charge. Donations are always welcome.

14th Annual Downtown West Palm Beach Art Festival, West Palm Beach

When: April 6-7, 10 am – 5 pm

The 14th Annual Downtown West Palm Beach Art Festival is a free, outdoor event that takes place on April 6 and 7 at The Square, West Palm Beach. For the occasion, The Square will feature local and national artists’ tents filled with all mediums of fine art including life-size sculptures, paintings, jewels, photography, ceramics and more. The art festival is family-friendly and pets on leashes are welcomed.

Come explore with us!

Tie up your hiking boots and join the River Center for our Sunset Nature Walk through Juno Dunes Natural Area. Walk along the guided paths and immerse yourself in this local natural area. Explore a path inside this natural area with uneven terrain.

Interested participants should wear closed-toed shoes, long pants (recommended), a walking stick, comfortable clothing, and bring plenty of water. Bug spray is highly recommended.

Origami Paper Folding Class with Reiko Nishioka, West Palm Beach

When: April 13

Learn how to fold a square of paper and create a piece similar or identical to the large Origami now at Mounts Botanical Garden.  This class focuses on Origami Birds. All students will learn how to fold up to eight different figures to take home. The instructor will give step-by-step instructions from simple to intermediate folds. All materials will be provided – just bring your enthusiasm!

Black Gold Jubilee, Belle Glade

When: April 13, 2024

Belle Glade’s annual Black Gold Jubilee is a much-anticipated festival born from the 1976 Bi-Centennial celebration which was sponsored by the City of Belle Glade in commemoration of our great nations’ 200th birthday.

The Black Gold Jubilee is celebrating its 46th anniversary in 2024! The Jubilee includes several events such as a volleyball tournament, the Harvest Queen Pageant a parade, a car show and more. On the morning of the Jubilee, the festivities begin with a 5K Walk/Run and a 10K Run through some of the most beautiful views of Belle Glade. The course begins at the Drawbridge Restaurant, winds through the golf course, and up the Herbert Hoover Dike for a one of a kind running experience.
