Lake Worth Beach Staycation Guide

By: Jessica Pierce

If you’re craving a getaway without the airport math, Lake Worth Beach delivers that “wait how is this all in one place?” feeling. It’s funky, art-forward, and proudly itself, so you can go from beach chair to gallery stop to tacos to late-night listening lounge without ever feeling like you’re forcing the fun. Also: nobody here is judging your flip-flops. Ever.

Below is a two-day Lake Worth Beach staycation that leans into the town’s quirky spirit, local makers, and nightlife, while still leaving room for wandering (because that’s when Lake Worth Beach does its best work).

Where to Stay in Lake Worth Beach

Before you lock in your itinerary, pick the stay that matches your mood: oceanfront resort, or walkable boutique bed & breakfast close to downtown’s shops, cocktails, and galleries.

Oceanfront resort vibes: Tideline Palm Beach Ocean Resort & Spa

If your staycation style is “wake up, coffee, ocean breeze,” book Tideline Palm Beach Ocean Resort & Spa, over the bridge on the ocean, with an easy drive back to Lake Worth Beach for all the fun.

Downtown charm: Mango Inn Bed & Breakfast

If you want to be near the art, restaurants, and that distinctly Lake Worth Beach personality, go with Mango Inn Bed & Breakfast, cozy, historic, and close enough to downtown that spontaneous plans are basically the plan.

Boutique B&B option: Sabal Palm House

For an Old Florida-style stay with tropical character, add Sabal Palm House to your shortlist, another great choice when you want a stay that feels like a true getaway while keeping you close to the Lake Worth Beach scene.

Day 1: Beach morning, shop-hopping, and a night with live music

Morning: Lake Worth Beach Park + pier time

Head straight for Lake Worth Beach Park and ease into the day with a walk on the pier. This is your “we’re officially on staycation” reset button: salty breeze, people-watching, and that bright Atlantic horizon that makes your phone calendar feel far away.

Brunch/lunch with a view: Benny’s On The Beach

If you want to keep the ocean as your backdrop a little longer, grab a bite at Benny’s On The Beach, right on the pier. It’s a Lake Worth Beach classic for a reason, and it fits the staycation vibe perfectly: easy, scenic, and undeniably “I’m off duty.”

Midday: Shop Lake Avenue

This is where Lake Worth Beach really shows off. Give yourself permission to browse slowly, because these shops aren’t “run in, run out.” They’re browse-y, chatty, and wonderfully specific. You’ll walk in “just to look,” and walk out with a bag you didn’t plan on carrying.

Sea You Boutique

Make your first stop at Sea You Boutique while strolling Lake Avenue, a colorful, art-filled shop that feels perfectly at home in Lake Worth Beach. Inside, you’ll find coastal-inspired gifts, jewelry, local art, beachy décor, and thoughtfully curated finds sourced from Florida makers and artists. More than just a boutique, Sea You has become a creative gathering space for the community, hosting local workshops and spotlighting young artists through collaborations with nearby schools.

LOCAL PRO TIP: Don’t miss the boutique’s mini print vending machine, where you can grab a tiny piece of Palm Beach County-inspired art to take home from your staycation.

Bali Importers

Bali Importers is a full-on sensory experience, decor, gifts, jewelry, and plenty of “how is this even here?” finds that feel like vacation souvenirs (even when you never left The Palm Beaches).

Eclective Boutique

Eclective Boutique is exactly what Lake Worth Beach does best: art-forward, playful, and personal. Think local artisans, jewelry, and fun clothing that feels expressive and easy to wear, whether you’re headed to happy hour or wandering downtown with an iced coffee.

Tacky Tourist (the name says it all)

Tacky Tourist is unapologetically fun, souvenirs, novelty gifts, and plenty of “I can’t believe they have this” moments.

Afternoon: Two art stops that feel very Lake Worth Beach

Cultural Council galleries

I always make time for the galleries on the ground floor of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County building, which spotlights the work of local artists. It’s the kind of stop that starts as “we’ll pop in for ten minutes” and turns into a slow wander when a piece stops you in your tracks.

Benzaiten Center for Creative Arts

If you want art you can feel being made, add the Benzaiten Center for Creative Arts. It’s one of those places that reminds you why Lake Worth Beach feels so alive, creative energy, color, and plenty of inspiration for your next “I want my home to feel like this” idea.

Evening: Tacos and happy hour

Dinner: Lilo’s Streetfood & Bar

Lilo’s Streetfood & Bar is a go-to when you want something bold, social, and not fussy, street food tacos, great drinks, and the kind of happy hour that actually feels like a mood shift into “night out.”

“And in a place like Lake Worth Beach , where every meal comes with a story, a soundtrack, and a little local flavor, this Anthony Bourdain quote says it best:

“Street food, I believe, is the salvation of the human race.” — Anthony Bourdain

Night: Blues at the Bamboo Room (Rudy’s Pub)

For a night that feels classic Lake Worth Beach, lean into the music scene with blues at the Bamboo Room at Rudy’s Pub. It’s welcoming, lively, and the kind of place where you can show up as-is and still feel like you made the right plan.

Day 2: Nature on the lagoon, golf with a breeze, and a perfect night out

Morning: Snook Islands Nature Trail

Start Day 2 with a change of scenery at the Snook Islands Natural Area. It’s a beautiful way to experience the Lake Worth Lagoon side of town, calm, breezy, and perfect for a slow walk and some low-key wildlife spotting.

Midday: Lake Worth Beach Golf Club (yes, even if you’re “not a golfer”)

Even if you’re not trying to become the next PGA legend, Lake Worth Beach Golf Club is a great staycation move, easygoing, outdoorsy, and just structured enough to feel like you’re doing something delightfully “weekend.”

Quick bite: L-Dub Subs

When you need lunch that’s fast, satisfying, and built for “eat now, go do more,” it’s L-Dub Subs. This is the practical staycation stop: grab the sub, get back to whatever Lake Worth Beach surprise you’re chasing next.

Catch a play at the historic Lake Worth Beach Playhouse

If you’re in a “let’s do something artsy” mood, check what’s on at Lake Worth Beach Playhouse, a Lake Avenue staple that’s been part of the city’s creative heartbeat for more than a century. It originally opened as the Oakley Theatre in 1924, and it’s still one of those places that makes Lake Worth Beach feel like a real arts town, local, lively, and always worth a look at the calendar.

Day 2 Evening: Happy hour first, then dinner, then a lounge nightcap

First stop: Pomona

Before you do “dinner dinner,” start with happy hour drinks at Pomona. It’s a great place to settle into the night and toast the fact that you didn’t go far,but it still feels like you got away. If you are in the mood for early dinner don’t let their happy hour menu fool you. It is amazing! My favorite currently the Peruvian Cauliflower and the warm feta dip. For a drink the espresso martini is a hit and their Old Fashioneds. Check out their full menu for amazing dishes like the fresh ceviche.

Pomona is a vibe from the decor in the historic building to the friendly husband and wife owners with the old classic movies and shows playing in the background. Live bands are coming soon!

And honestly? If you want to skip Oceano, you’re not downgrading, you’re just choosing a different kind of night. Stay at Pomona, order a few favorites, and let the vibe do the rest.

Dinner: Oceano (upscale and yes, make reservations)

Now for your “okay, now we’re doing dinner dinner” moment: Oceano. It’s a great pick when you want a more elevated meal in Lake Worth Beach. Make reservations, especially on weekends, because this is a popular one.

Nightcap : Off The Clock Listening Bar & Restaurant

If you want your night to lean hip, soulful, and a little bit “we found a vibe,” head to Off The Clock Listening Bar & Restaurant. Think music-forward atmosphere, lounge energy, and a place that feels like a soundtrack the second you walk in, very Lake Worth Beach, in the best way.

Whether you’re here for the pier walk, the galleries, the tacos, the chalk art, or a perfectly timed happy hour, Lake Worth Beach always feels like it has one more surprise up its sleeve. And honestly? That’s the whole point.

STAYCATION PRO TIP:

If you’re planning your staycation anytime in late winter, build it around the Lake Worth Beach Street Painting Festival, the event that turns downtown into a giant open-air gallery. For two days, artists transform the streets with jaw-dropping chalk murals.

It’s free to attend, incredibly walkable, and it’s the kind of weekend where you can bounce between art, music, food, and people-watching without ever needing a “big plan.” Check the official festival site for the most up-to-date dates, hours, and parking/shuttle info.
