WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 2, 2020) -- In the spirit of cutting-edge technology and innovative thinking emblematic of PCMA Convening Leaders, Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB) invites attendees to learn, become inspired and join forces to help combat human trafficking at this year’s conference taking place from January 5 to 8 in San Francisco.

The official tourism marketing organization of Palm Beach County will unveil an interactive map that tells the destination’s story, educating attendees on its rich diversity of options and one-of-a-kind experiences when it comes to hosting meetings. Drawing inspiration from the destination’s top industries and assets, attendees can enter a raffle to win one of 10 prizes, including the following:

  • HelloFresh subscription: The farm-to-table, meal-kit delivery service is a nod to The Palm Beaches’ No. 1 economic driver, agriculture, which reigns as the nation’s leader for sugarcane, sweet corn and sweet bell peppers.

  • $500 Virgin gift card: Thanks to Brightline’s (soon to be Virgin Trains USA) high-speed rail, The Palm Beaches enjoy an unparalleled ease of accessibility – cutting down travel time to West Palm Beach from Fort Lauderdale and Miami to 45 minutes and one hour, respectively.

  • Orangetheory membership: Boca Raton – home to the walkable, “Bocawide” meetings district – is The Palm Beaches’ main hub for corporate headquarters, including that of the popular fitness company, Orangetheory.

Tickets are priced as five for $25. All proceeds will go toward the PCMA Foundation, which funds a tourism and hospitality industry training program that provides employees with tools to help them prevent and respond to human trafficking. Attendees can visit Discover The Palm Beaches’ activation in the Innovate and Elevate Arena during the following hours:

  • Monday, January 6: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, January 7: 10:15 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, January 8: 8 to 10:30 a.m.

“As a premier partner of PCMA, we are honored to showcase our destination at one of the industry’s most coveted and highly anticipated events,” said Kelly Cavers, DTPB’s senior vice president of Group Sales and Destination Services. “By inspiring attendees to see what makes The Palm Beaches the best way to meet in Florida, we also will raise awareness and funds for a critical cause. Every dollar donated through our raffle of meaningful prizes will go back to the PCMA Foundation, bolstering the hospitality industry with the ultimate goal of eradicating human trafficking.”

In addition to helping Discover The Palm Beaches and PCMA put an end to human trafficking, those visiting the activation will see first-hand what makes the destination meetings-ready. The Palm Beaches’ offer diversity without the density amid an array of meeting spaces for all tastes and budgets, ranging from the 350,000-square-foot convention center in bustling downtown West Palm Beach, with its attached hotel and more than 1,200 rooms within walking distance, to historic landmark hotels and more than 200 cultural institutions that have earned it the moniker of Florida’s Cultural Capital.
