GBAC STAR™ Accreditation
Showing a commitment to health and safety
The Palm Beaches is the first destination in Florida and one of the first destinations in the United States to support hospitality businesses in pursuing the GBAC STARTM accreditation on a destination-wide basis. Businesses that pursue the accreditation will undertake a rigorous 20-step training and implementation process, complementing safety protocols, procedures and best practices already employed by these venues. Perhaps most assuredly, it brings consistency to the destination by uniting diverse businesses with one of the industry’s highest safety standards – which begins as soon as guests arrive in The Palm Beaches.
GBAC STAR is the gold standard of prepared facilities. This accreditation means that a facility has:
- Established and maintained a cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention program to minimize risks associated with infectious agents like the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).
- The proper cleaning protocols, disinfection techniques, and work practices in place to combat biohazards and infectious disease.
- Highly informed cleaning professionals who are trained for outbreak and infectious disease preparation and response.
The Global Biorisk Advisory Council’s (GBAC) STARTM Accreditation is the cleaning industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation for facilities. This performance-based accreditation program offers third-party validation to help facilities demonstrate they have the work practices, procedures and protocols to prepare, respond and recover from outbreaks and pandemics to instill confidence in customers, staff and key stakeholders.
GBAC is a division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association. Learn more here.
