Homegrown Fun in The Glades
The Black Gold Jubilee Festival is a celebration for the whole family. Watch the Main Street Parade, participate in the 5K Run/Walk or 10K Run on Torry Island, listen to a variety of live music, and enjoy all the other family-friendly activities, rides and games at this all-day affair!

Celebrate Our "Country"
“Her Soil is Her Fortune!” This is how locals describe the historic city of Belle Glade, with its dark, rich and incredibly fertile ground. To celebrate the annual end of the harvest season, the entire Glades Region – Belle Glade, Pahokee and South Bay – come together with friends and family at the Black Gold Jubilee for fabulous food, good ole’ country music, and lots more.

Sensational Sights & Sounds
Folks are sure to have a full day of fun on Torry Island, starting with an early 5K Walk/Run or 10K Run. Check out an art show by the Glades Art Group, see antique automobiles at the Car Show, participate in golf, volleyball and cornhole tournaments, and join the fun all day with free rides, games and children's activities, including a Kid's Fishing Tournament. The good times keep rolling with the Main Street Parade, featuring floats, marching bands and more.

Foodies won't want to miss the Green Market and Glades-style food booths, where you can sample everything from alligator to gumbo. The Corn & Sweets Cook-Off will challenge chefs to create dishes featuring sugar and corn – two home-grown specialties of the region. The festivities continue at the Local Entertainment Stage, plus a headlining performance by country artist Sara Evans.

Be an Insider
Giant Lake Okeechobee shines as a picture-perfect backdrop for Torry Island, which sits along the lake’s southern shores, the Gateway to the Florida Everglades. Watch alligators sunning on rocks, look up to see a variety of unique birds, take in the tropical flora and drop a line in the water, because Lake O has the finest bass fishing in the U.S. From Torry, you can get LOST – that is, hiking, biking or horseback riding on the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail, or LOST. On the trail, look west for striking sunsets and look east for first-rate views of this nationally important agricultural region.
