Downtown Delray Beach Restaurant Month 2024, Delray Beach

When: September 1-30, 2024

The 9th annual Downtown Delray Beach Restaurant Month will highlight this diverse dining destination from September 1 – 30, 2024 through a wide-array of culinary experiences providing locals and visitors with opportunities to enjoy more than 50 restaurants, cafés, and fast-casual establishments/eateries at special prices including many new restaurants that have opened in the past year. Event features include special multi-course prix fixe breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, and culinary events.

Do not miss the kick-off party on September 1 at Downtown Delray’s newest restaurant, The Standard from 4 pm to 7 pm. The event will include happy hour specials and raffle prizes. Admission is FREE.

Flavor South Florida will feature special prix fixe menu offerings at dozens of Palm Beach County’s hottest bistros, diners, and restaurants!

During the entire month of September, Palm Beach County’s top eateries will offer special fixed-price menus for lunch and dinner as part of Flavor South Florida. This event showcases local restaurants, featuring internationally renowned chefs, including James Beard Foundation, Michelin Star, and celebrity chefs.

Coco Market, Delray Beach

When: September 1, 9 am – 2 pm

Coco Market is a monthly wellness market that builds community and fosters new connections. Its mission is to bring local businesses together to support one another and the larger wellness community. During the events, which are free and open to the public, kids and adults of all ages can enjoy a variety of fun and interactive activities including:

  • Healing classes like yoga, meditation, and sound baths with musicians.
  • Healing modalities, such as spinal adjustments, cupping therapy, massages, and energy work.
  • Workshops, crafts, and local curated vendors offering a variety of unique products, from aromatherapy to reworked clothing and elderberry elixirs.
  • Offerings from small local restaurants and pop-up food vendors featuring both vegan and non-vegan options.

Bumblefest 2024, West Palm Beach

BumbleFest comes back to the 500 Block of Clematis Street for a weekend of live music and fun! Enjoy over 20 bands at Respectable Street in downtown West Palm Beach. 

At Bumblefest, you’re given the opportunity to sample works of art that you normally wouldn’t get to experience — in this case — live music — sounds and bands that wouldn’t ordinarily make the trip. Bumblefest is South Florida’s annual cultural experience which allows us to break out of our regular routines and sample something fresh with an open mind!

Free Fun “Centennial” Saturdays, Boca Raton

When: September 7, 10 am – 4 pm.

The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum invites all families to a new season of Free Fun Saturdays, themed around the museum’s special upcoming exhibit, “Boca Raton 1925-2025: Addison Mizner’s Legacy,” on display starting November 13 and the City of Boca Raton’s centennial celebration.

Free Fun Saturdays are hosted at the museum on the first Saturday of each month from 10 am to 4 pm, and include free admission for all visitors and a free children’s craft activity led by local artist and author Michelle Sherman, starting at 2 pm. This Saturday, following the reading of “Addison Mizner: Visionary Architect,” participants will make a Paper Stuffy like one of Mizner’s pets.

29th Annual Downtown Delray Beach Craft Festival, Delray Beach

When: September 7-8, 10 am – 4 pm

American Craft Endeavors is excited to return to Downtown Delray Beach for the annual Craft Festival this fall. The show starts at the entrance of E. Atlantic Ave and NE 4th Ave in the heart of downtown. The show will proceed north on NE 4th Ave for two full blocks to NE 2nd St. Admission is free!

Town Hall Talks Explore The Lives & Legends Shaping Boca Raton’s History, Boca Raton

When: September 11, 6 pm

The Boca Raton Historical Society has announced the next installment of Town Hall Talks, an evening lecture program given in Boca Raton’s original “Town Hall” at The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum, 71 North Federal Highway. 

This September, join them for a talk and book signing for a new publication about Boca Raton’s most successful author, Theodore Pratt. Pratt was the author of fifteen books about Florida earning him the nickname “Literary Laureate of Florida.” Many of Pratt’s books from the 1940s and 50s were made into movies including the popular 1964 Disney film The Incredible Mister Limpet.  Author Hagood is a professor of literature at FAU whose books include Faulkner, Writer of Disability and Stringbean: The Life and Murder of a Country Music Legend.

Sunset Stroll at The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, Delray Beach

 When: September 12, from 5:30 pm – 8 pm.

Spring into fall during Sunset Stroll at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. Enjoy a spectacular twilight procession through the Roji-en: Garden of the Drops of Dew, and explore the peaceful Yamato-kan, the Morikami’s original museum, during the annual after-hours event series.

Highlights will include the Sean Danconia Pop Surreal Art Show, a Japanese anime pop-up, docent-led garden talks, a curated selection of beer and sake for purchase, and Asian-inspired gastronomy by Ramen Lab Eatery, Kaminari Ramen, Kona Ice, and the Cornell Café.

 “Lush 3” Ceramics Exhibit at The Lighthouse ArtCenter, Tequesta

When: September 12, 5 pm – 7 pm

Lighthouse ArtCenter’s new exhibition “LUSH 3” is a biennial exhibition showcasing contemporary ceramics. This edition of “LUSH” includes the large-scale work of underwater photographer Chris Leidy.

The opening reception is September 12, 5 – 7 p.m., with light bites, refreshments, and opportunities to meet the exhibiting artists. Admission is free for members and a $5 suggested donation for nonmembers. For more information, visit lighthousearts.org.

This juried exhibition welcomed submissions from emerging and established ceramic artists nationwide, showcasing functional, sculptural, and experimental pieces created within the past two years. Selected by a panel of nationally recognized ceramics artists and judged by Lighthouse ArtCenter’s 30Wings Fellowship Visiting Artist Jamie Bates, the exhibition culminates in an Artists’ Reception and Awards Ceremony on October 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gallery and 2D Studio. Over $4,000 in prizes will be awarded to outstanding artists.

New Comedians at the Kravis Center, West Palm Beach

Go Pink Challenge Kicks Off  Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Boca Raton

ASL Day at Loggerhead Marinelife Center, Juno Beach

When: September 21, starting at 6:30 am

In recognition of National Deaf Awareness Month, Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) is hosting an American Sign Language Day on Saturday, September 21. The special event will be led by LMC’s Research Operations Manager, Jennifer Reilly, who is deaf and fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).

The day will begin with a private, ASL-guided Hatchling Discovery program at 6:30 a.m., where guests will learn about nesting and hatching processes of sea turtles and witness a nest excavation on the beach behind the Center. During LMC’s business hours, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., guests can enjoy several ASL-interpreted fish feedings and an ASL tour of the Center’s outdoor hospital. The Center will also be holding a showcase for deaf artists to display artwork related to ocean conservation.

On Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21, executive chef Robert Osso, a deaf chef and the owner of Osso’s Kitchen + Bar, will be cooking up culinary delights on his food truck outside the Center. Renowned for his “silent gastronomy,” Osso has proven that talent has no bounds and the language of flavor transcends all.
