Full Moon Silent Disco & Cacao Ceremony, Singer Island

South Florida’s Shucking Best Oyster Eating Contest 2023, Jupiter

August 4, 4:30 pm

Mouth as many mollusks as possible in 90 seconds to take home the title in this tide-to-table competition. The contest is limited to 25 participants. All fees will benefit the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum.

First Friday Art Walk, Delray Beach

The City of Boca Raton is excited to announce the return of the Annual Battle of the Bands competition on Friday, August 4 at 7 pm at the Mizner Park Amphitheater.

The winning band in each category will receive a $2,500 cash prize.

Sensory Saturdays at the Cox Science Center & Aquarium, West Palm Beach

August 5, 9 am – 10 am
The Cox Science Center and Aquarium is open for special exploration hours from 9 am – 10 am, specifically designed for families affected by autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing or cognitive challenges, or other guests requiring assistance for disabilities.

Experience the exhibits without heavy crowds before the museum opens to the public at 10 am with softened general lighting, decreased noise level, and limited visual stimulation on interactive exhibits wherever possible. The facility is also ADA-accessible and wheelchair friendly! 

The Science Center opens at 10 am after this special program for the general public.

Pre-registration is required to reserve your spot in this special program.

Run Club with Alex Celis, West Palm Beach

Break a sweat with fellow runners in the community during this run club led by Lululemon ambassador Alex Celis on the first Saturday of the month. Animal Keeper For A Day, Boca Raton

Laser Concert at the Cox Science Center & Aquarium, West Palm Beach

August 11, 6 pm

Jam out under the Cox Science Center’s full-dome planetarium, while the sounds of the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and more merge with dazzling laser light visuals! 

On the second Friday of every month, rock out with a nostalgic throwback to the classic laser light spectacles you know and love. From Daft Punk to Michael Jackson, we’re integrating music from some of the greatest artists of our time with mind-blowing laser-light visuals.
