Focaccia Breadmaking Class at the Delray Beach Market, August 4
Matt Reilly, owner of The Cellar and Pantry teaches you how to make our house recipe for focaccia bread used for our crostinis, montaditos, tartines, pulgas and served with all our cheeseboards. You will go home with an understanding of sourdough fermentation and bring home your own loaf you made in class!

Boynton Beach Free Monthly Concert Series, August 5
This free family-friendly concert will take place at the Centennial Park Amphitheater in downtown Boynton Beach from 5 – 8 pm on the first Friday of each month. On August 5, enjoy a performance by Stray Dog Band, a five-piece rock-n-roll band that plays their own versions of familiar favorites. Food trucks and beverage vendors will be on site at each concert, offering up a delicious range of fare available for purchase. Art and fun activities will be available for kids. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the concerts on the Amphitheater’s lawn.

West Palm Beach Beer Fest at BRK Republic Dog Bar, August 6
Join the first annual West Palm Beach Beer fest on Saturday, August 6 benefitting local animal rescues! This celebration is in honor of BRK Republic's anniversary and is the only craft beer festival in downtown West Palm Beach this year. The large parking lot and park will house the breweries, and a DJ and feature BRK Republic’s rescue partners. A portion of all tickets sold will be donated to rescue partners (including Mutty Paws, Peggy Adams).
VIP tickets include early admission and a free food ticket! VIP entry at 5 pm. General Admission at 6 pm. Sampling is while supplies last or 10 pm.
This is a 21+ and dog-friendly event.

Sundown Silent Disco, August 6
Feel ecstatic, move your body, dance on the beach at sunset, and feel connected! Join Be You Disco on Saturday, August 6, for Sundown Silent Disco. The event starts right before sunset and will begin with a guest facilitator followed by 1 hour of ecstatic dance and live music. You will leave this experience feeling connected, expressed, revitalized, and making new connections. Reserve your headset on Eventbrite ahead of time!

Crafted on The Ave., August 6
Crafted on the Ave. is a new open-aired craft market created to highlight local Delray Beach small and microbusinesses that are merchants/creators of handmade products, art, and other crafts and goods. Crafted on the Ave. is a way to increase exposure for crafters and stimulate and reactivate business activity in the Historic NW/SW 5th Avenue Business District. The market is a fun, family-friendly destination, where anyone can shop, stroll, and enjoy the day.

Youth Origami Workshop, August 6
Kids (Grades 3rd to 12th) will learn how to make unique pieces of art with paper by using various techniques and simple folds.

Coco Market, August 7
Coco Connections is a free health and wellness-centered market that aims to build community and foster new connections. On Sunday, August 7 from 9 am to 2 pm, shop 40-50 local vendors, health and wellness professionals providing various services, live music, a free yoga class at 9 am and various interactive spaces to experience different workouts and other healing modalities.

World Lion Day at Lion Country Safari, August 8
Lion Country Safari is hosting an event in honor of World Lion Day on August 8, from 11 am to 3 pm. This year’s event will feature crafts, educational displays, a raffle, and special VIP tours (limited space) that you can participate in for an additional fee, which will be donated to lion conservation. World Lion Day is a celebration of lions and an opportunity to raise awareness about the vital need for worldwide participation in their protection and conservation in the wild.

Full Moon Silent Disco & Cacao Ceremony, August 11
Join a heart opening evening of cacao ceremony, meditation, intention, and dancing underneath the light of the Full Moon. The evening will start with a Cacao Ceremony and a meditation. Cacao is a beautiful heart opening medicine that has been used for thousands of years in Mayan and other Meso American cultures. Then, the evening will continue with a lightly-guided ecstatic dance. After the dancing portion, musician Kev Ohm will play some live music and a vocal sound bath which will then morph into community music making.

Lighthouse Moonrise Tour, August 11
A howling good time and spectacular evening view of a full moon from the top of the Lighthouse! Tour time is approximately 60 minutes. Guests must check in 15 minutes prior to the tour. Tours are limited and weather permitting. Children must be accompanied by an adult and be at least 48” tall to climb the Lighthouse.

Comedy After Dark, August 19
Comedy After Dark features national headliners and local up and coming comedians with special guests from all over the country. Admission is $10 per person, with the option of $15 with 1st drink included or $25 VIP Priority Seating (couches/comfy chairs) that includes your first drink of choice. The show starts at 10 pm, and the doors open at 9 pm. Seating is limited, get there early to grab your seats!

Lighthouse Story Time & Crafts for Kids, August 20
Join us outdoors under the shade of our Seminole Chickee Hut as we read exciting stories about lighthouse keepers, Florida history, and local plants & animals! This program is ideal for children aged 8 and under! Please bring a small towel or mat for your child, as well as a bottle of water! Please arrive 10 minutes prior for check-in. Gate closes/no admission after 10:40am.
This program is free & runs approximately 30 minutes. RSVP is required online by the Friday before the program date.

JoJo’s Farmers Market Jupiter, August 20
JoJo’s Farmers Market is a Health and wellness-based farmers market where you’ll find food trucks, produce, crafts, and more. On August 20, you can also participate in a free Fitness Class with AWAT The Fitness Truck (starting at 9.15 am), and a free Yoga Class with Maddie Eunis (starting at 10 am).

On Saturday, August 20 at 11:20 am celebrate Mountain Day, a Japanese holiday to remind us of the importance of the mountains, by making a mountain out of chigiri-e. Chigiri-e is when torn paper is used to make an image.

Blackmer's Market, August 21
The Blackmer's Market takes place on the 3rd Sunday of the month from 11 am to 4 pm at Spady Museum. The free event will include delicious food, beautiful clothing and accessories, and community organizations and service providers.

Stroller Daze at Cox Science Center & Aquarium, August 24
Bring your little ones to the Science Center for a fun-filled event just for them on Wednesday, August 24, from 9 am to 12 pm. Special event includes age-appropriate Science Crafts, Planetarium Shows, Discovery Center & Playground exploration, giveaways, and more! This event is geared toward children 5 and under and their parents/guardians. Safety guidelines are in place.
The event is FREE for kids under 5 and $5 off general admission for adults and kids ages 6-12! This event is free for members.

Nights at the Museum - Survivor, August 26
On the last Friday of August, from 6 pm to 9 pm, guests of all ages can enjoy extended hours of exploration at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium. The August theme for the night at the museum is “Survivor.” Attendees will learn about the do’s and don’ts when it comes to outdoor survival. Admission is $17.95 for adults, $15.95 for seniors, $13.95 for children (3-12), FREE for children under 3, and $13.95 for adult members (child members are FREE).

JMB Summer Camp, August Dates
Watch as your child turns from camper to Conservation Kid as they learn the importance of ocean conservation for sea turtles, the ocean, and their future. Campers will learn how to responsibly enjoy the outdoors while having fun seining and snorkeling safely in marine environments. Conservation Kids will also explore the different ecosystems here in South Florida and gain an understanding of human impacts to them. Each camper will leave with tools and resources to implement responsible practices in their own community!

Sunrise Nest Excavation, August Dates
This August, learn more about sea turtles with the Sunrise Nest Excavation Program. The Sunrise Nest Excavation program is a unique opportunity for Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) educators to give the public insight into LMC’s research department. With permission from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, a permitted staff member will lead guests down onto Juno, Jupiter, or Tequesta beaches to discuss the nesting and hatching processes of sea turtles. After an introduction to these processes, guests may have the opportunity to witness a live excavation and create their own data sheets to take home as a memento.
Sunrise Nest Excavations are $24 per person or $22 per person for our LMC members.
All individuals, including children, are required to pre-register online to reserve their spot. Children must be 8 years or older to attend the excavations and all participants must be able to walk up to half a mile.
The program is offered every week of August from Sunday to Thursday, 7 am – 9 am.

Lighthouse Sunset Tour, August Dates
From Wednesday, August 3 through Wednesday, August 31, climb 105 steps and take in the spectacular sunset views atop the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse! Tour time is approximately 60 minutes. Guests must check in 15 minutes prior to the tour. Attendees receive a special gift from Tommy Bahama Restaurant.

Celebrate the summer season with free concerts, movies, fireworks, and more for the whole family to enjoy.
- August 11: Clematis by Night - The Samantha Russell Band (Country). Voted the No. 1 top live country band in South Florida, the band performs original songs, occasional current pop tunes, and covers hits from many of today's top country music stars and rock artists.
- August 18: Clematis by Night - The Holidazed (Reggae/Rock). With very diverse styles, The Holidazed's reggae/rock/funk band will create a great ambiance and make the audience feel carried away.
- August 25: Clematis by Night - CoverUp (Rock). South Florida-based band, CoverUp, performs a setlist of upbeat songs from hard rock and punk to '80s hair bands and everything in between.
- August 21: Sunday on The Waterfront - Sacred Union feat. The B-Side Horns (Classic Funk, Rock). Sacred Union will perform their unique brand of classic funk and rock hits of the '70s, '80s, and '90s, from James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, to Lenny Kravitz, The Foo Fighters and many more.
- August 12: Screen on The Green: Ratatouille. In one of Paris's finest restaurants, Remy, a determined young rat, dreams of becoming a renowned French chef. Torn between his family's wishes and his true calling, Remy and his pal Linguini set in motion a hilarious chain of events that turns the City of Lights upside down.

Mounts Botanical Garden Educational Events, August Dates
Friends of the Mounts Botanical Garden will be hosting nine fun, healthy, educational, and awesome eco-focused open-air events in August, including a pair of two-part workshops.
- August 6: Landscape & Nature Photography Workshop. Learn how to use light, color, and creative composition to make photos really stand out. In the Digital Darkroom, gain an overview of today’s simple, yet elegant software tools.
- August 4, 11, 18, 25: Qi Gong Classes. Relieve stress and increase metabolism, flexibility, and strength. Qi Gong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique.
- August 6, 13: Orchid Growing Essentials Workshop. This is a 2-part workshop. Sandi Jones of Broward Orchid Supply will lead this popular workshop on orchid growing, care, and potting. A full line of orchid supplies will be available for purchase.
- August 13: Palm Beach County Residents Day. Palm Beach County residents receive FREE admission on the second Saturday of each month through December 2022.
- August 14: Dogs’ Day in the Garden. This dog-and-family-friendly monthly event is held throughout the Garden. Bring your favorite pooch and enjoy a relaxed garden stroll.
