The City of Westlake, Florida is located in central Palm Beach County, east of Lake Okeechobee and west of West Palm Beach, the biggest city in The Palm Beaches.
There are several things to do near Westlake. Lion Country Safari is Florida’s largest drive-through safari with over 900 animals roaming wide open habitats often within inches of your car! Expect to see some of the largest herds of rhinos, giraffes & zebra on the continent as well as many other species from the comfort of your own vehicle!
Swank Specialty Produce in Loxahatchee is just a 15-minute drive from West Lake. Every Saturday, October through May, Swank Farm hosts a farmers’ market in an open-air 8500 square food barn where you can find fresh local produce including bakers, growers, gardeners, and sellers of the best Farm Market products.
Another can’t-be-missed place near Westlake is Wellington, the Winter Equestrian Capital of the World. Home to an internationally recognized equestrian community, this city in The Palm Beaches offers endless opportunities to play by day and ride off into the sunset at night. Every year from January to March, Wellington International hosts the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), the largest and longest-running horse show in the world. The most thrilling event is Saturday Night Lights, which features show jumping, shopping, dining, kids activities, music, entertainment, and more!
Additionally, each January through April the National Polo Center in Wellington hosts the world’s premier polo players during the polo season.
