Ernie DeBlasi, a native Floridian artisan, brings a diverse background in woodcarving, painting, pottery, and culinary arts. His passion for the region’s history, love for the outdoors, and interest in cooking have driven him to create both in the kitchen and in the studio.
From a young age, Ernie worked alongside his “Uncle Butch” Diaz in his Miami studio, learning the fundamentals of art and woodcraft. In the late 1980s, he honed his skills in Central Florida, studying art and pottery under Don Baily while refining his carving techniques with both wood and ice.
Today, Ernie works with a variety of mediums, including functional ceramics, oil paints, and acrylics.
