Ultra-Luxury Experiences in The Palm Beaches

March 8, 2019

Get a glimpse of true South Florida luxury. We’ve gathered some of the platinum experiences you can have in style.

The Palm Beaches seamlessly blend labels and Billionaires Row with laid-back beach charm. The secret to this balance has been keeping the destination’s grandiose offerings under wraps. After all, half the fun of vacationing in The Palm Beaches is peeking behind the curtain. Now, we're peeling that curtain back and introducing you to ultra-luxury experiences only available in our part of South Florida.

Adventures by Air & Sea

Go sky-high with a helicopter tour by Southern Helicopter Tours. Located in Boca Raton, the tour takes you miles above famous sights including Worth Avenue, Delray Beach, Jupiter, Atlantic Avenue, the Florida Everglades and the ranches of Wellington. You can fly solo or book a tour for two.

Nothing says “made it” like a tour by yacht. Made famous by John F. Kennedy, the presidential yacht Honey Fitz is a 93-foot wooden yacht built in 1931. The yacht officially gained presidential status with President Harry Truman and was used by five U.S. presidents: Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon. Enjoy a relaxing day on the water aboard the Honey Fitz with a full bar, outdoor deck and up to 70 of your friends. Pricing to rent this presidential experience starts at $5,390.

Explore the open sea on your own private yacht with a personalized itinerary, food selection and aquatic adventures. Anything from remote beaches to chic nightclubs, scuba diving and three-course haute-cuisine dinners is possible.

Prancing Ponies & Great Golf

Called the Sport of Kings, polo is a prestigious sport that takes specialized skills. The Palm Beaches are no stranger to polo superstars—and with a private polo lesson at the International Polo Club in Wellington, you can learn to play like the pros. Private lessons come with a personal pony and instructor, are available for all skill levels and are by appointment only.

If golf is more your speed, Florida’s oldest golf course just emerged from a full-scale renovation. The Ocean Course at The Breakers in Palm Beach honors its heritage and coastal location with a renovation led by renowned golf course architect Rees Jones. The course balances preservation and modernization, bringing the early vintage-era course to a challenging new level. Play in true style on historic grounds.

High-End Fashion & Four-Legged Friends

You’re busy, but your wardrobe doesn’t have to suffer from your hectic schedule. Worth Avenue is known for esteemed labels like Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Ralph Lauren. And these storefronts offer concierge shopping services for clientele who need a personal shopper to help stock their closet, curating accessories and designer outfits with VIP service. Appointments can be made with each store directly: Saks Fifth Avenue, 561-833-2551, ext. 296; Neiman Marcus, 561-805-6150; and Ralph Lauren, 561-651-3900.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is to pamper your pet, and The Brazilian Court Hotel has the service to help you do just that. This hotel takes pet amenities over the top with the ultimate pooch-pampering package: the Bark Butler. The Bark Butler starts at $9,300 and can include daily dog walking, spa services and a boat ride aboard “The Casablanca.”

Cocktails & Foodie Feasts

A hand-crafted cocktail is part and parcel of The Palm Beaches experience, and there’s almost nowhere better to go than Ta-boo on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. Ta-boo is a legendary fixture, and this American bistro has held onto its flagship location since 1941. Ta-boo is known for creating cocktails and allegedly created the first Bloody Mary at the request of Barbara Hutton, who needed a soothing drink following a night of partying.

For posh celebrity sightings, nothing beats Buccan. Expect to rub elbows with Maria Sharipova, Michael Jordan and Jon Bon Jovi while dining at this renowned restaurant. Dine on classical fare made with seasonal ingredients and made-to-order dishes that will leave you breathless.

Or eat like a chef at an all-suite resort complete with its own private beach. The Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa offers a stunning Kitchen Table dining experience. Showcasing the talents of Executive Chef James King, this exclusive dining experience takes diners into the 3800 Ocean kitchen for a five-course menu created on the spot by the executive chef. The dinner typically spans three hours and is priced at $69 per person with cocktail and wine pairing on request. This dining experience is available Thursday through Saturday evenings, and reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance.

Top off your luxury dining experience with the perfect scoop. Boca Raton Resort & Club's sweet shop, Serendipity 3, offers guests the chance to indulge in a $1,000 dessert specialty, the Golden Opulence Sundae. This decadent dessert is coated in 24K gold and requires 48-hour notice. It features 20 scoops of homemade gelatos (vanilla bean, dark chocolate and fresh strawberry), sorbets (raspberry and mango), eight sheets of gold leaf, dark chocolate truffles, four petals of arabesque chocolate-style décor and a large arabesque chocolate-style crown. Toppings include caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, sprinkles, M&Ms,  strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, candied pecans, maraschino cherries and marshmallow sauce. The grand finale of this decadent concoction is the serving dish: a Waterford Crystal bowl with a mother-of-pearl spoon, both of which the guest gets to keep.
