LGBTQ Events
Palm Beach Pride, the International Gay Polo Tournament and more great events.
Year-round, The Palm Beaches are a welcoming destination for all who visit us. We also happen to be home to some of the biggest LGBT festivals in South Florida, where our cities are awash in every color of the rainbow in vibrant celebrations of pride, self-expression and diversity. Here are a few celebrations you'll want to put on your calendar.
International Gay Polo Tournament
If there’s a showstopper on our event calendar, this is it. During spring time, LGBTQ polo athletes from around the globe make their way to The Palm Beaches to play in this prestigious tournament. But it’s the tailgates – or rather, the over-the-top, crazy tailgates – that take the cake. Each tailgate has its own theme, which is how things get so wildly animated. You could be in a nightclub-like atmosphere with music and Champagne, a pop-up salon with workers in drag or, as they had one year, a wedding chapel where an actual ceremony took place. The International Polo Club in Wellington plays host to this annual tourney. The event is a whole weekend affair, including the vibrant Polotini Party and tasty Sunday Brunch.
Palm Beach Pride
Downtown Lake Worth Beach is one of the most well-established LGBTQ enclaves in The Palm Beaches. So naturally, waterside Bryant Park is the perfect setting for the annual Palm Beach Pride festival. This is the oldest running Pride parade in the state of Florida, and one of the biggest – attracting more than 30,000 revelers each year. It’s an exciting scene: the giant rainbow flag is proudly marched through the streets, as diverse musical performers get the massive crowds dancing on their feet. This two-day festival is family friendly, and there's plenty of great food, culture and nightlife to enjoy in and around Lake Worth Beach.
Fairs, Festivals and Flavors
You’ll find many more LGBTQ-friendly events throughout The Palm Beaches, all year round. If it’s art you love, we have ArtPalmBeach, the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival or ArtiGras for you. SunFest means refreshing waterfront breezes, national headliners and 40+ bands on multiple stages. Catch concerts, story slams and author talks at Festival of the Arts BOCA, or an open-air performance of the Bard's classics at Shakespeare By the Sea. The Palm Beaches Restaurant Month serves up special menus from the area's finest restaurants, while Boca Bacchanal invites you into some of Boca Raton's finest private homes for intimate Vintner Dinners. The events are many, so get your calendar ready, and we’ll see you here!
