MLB Spring Training in The Palm Beaches

The Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, Palm Beach Gardens

When: February 29 – March 3, 2024

The Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches (formerly known as Honda Classic) has been bringing top PGA TOUR talent to The Palm Beaches since 2003, providing a week of entertainment and one of the finest fan experiences around. The tournament features a field of 144 players and a purse of $7 million, with net proceeds benefiting the locally based Children’s Healthcare Charity.

Torry Island BBQ Festival, Belle Glade

When: March 2

The 2024 Torry Island BBQ Festival will be held on March 2, 2024 at Torry Island, Florida and feature a KBCS BBQ Showdown! Some of the top rated KCBS teams in the US will be preparing chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket for judging. To add to the excitement, there will also be an Airboat Show with awards in each division, Cornhole and Volleyball Tournaments, area artists & crafters, BBQ and other delicious food vendors, family activities, Live Music, and so much more!

The admission fee is $10 (children under 10 are free) which includes parking. Proceeds for the event will benefit the Glades Historical Society, a non-profit organization based in Belle Glade, Florida which is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history and culture of the Glades area.

A Conversation with Women on Art: Panel Discussion, West Palm Beach

When: March 2, 10-11 am

Drawn from the current exhibition She.Her.Hers at the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, Jessica Ransom, Director of Artist Service, will engage in conversation with artists Sarah Huang and Lisa MacNamara about their work and its layers of connections to family, their unique perspective on art making, and the innovative use of materials and display with their work.

Koto Hinamatsuri Concert at the Morikami, Delray Beach

When: March 3, 12 pm and 2:30 pm
Koto is a traditional Japanese stringed instrument first introduced to Japan from China in the 7th-8th centuries. Celebrate the holiday Hinamatsuri, called Doll’s Day or Girl’s Day, with a delightful concert with this exquisite instrument performed by koto teacher Mrs. Yoshiko Carlton and her Morikami students.

District Fit 2024, West Palm Beach

District Fit is West Palm’s most engaging fitness and wellness festival focused on mindful practices, physical fitness, and a health-conscious lifestyle at The Square and Hilton West Palm Beach. This full day of wellness programming features a lineup of free and donation-based classes led by elite instructors including yoga, cycling, dance, HIIT and meditative workshops. Lighthouse Artcenter’s 11th Annual Plein Air Festival, Tequesta

When: March 3-9

The 11th Annual Plein Air Festival features a Paint Out Competition, artist demonstrations, a Collectors’ Party & Sale, a Battle of the Brushes competition, workshops, and fresh art for sale. Lighthouse ArtCenter’s (LAC) 11th Annual Plein Air Festival brings together thirty-two award-winning artists to compete for over $15,000 in cash and prizes through the practice of painting “en plein air” or “in the open air.”

The festival takes place March 3 – 9, 2024. It includes free events and artist demonstrations, workshops, and hundreds of freshly painted pieces available for purchase throughout the week at Lighthouse ArtCenter Gallery at 373 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, FL 33469. Delray Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival, Delray Beach

Everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day! You’re invited to show off your green starting early, and continue with fun-filled excitement on Atlantic Avenue all day long. Proudly presented by the Delray Beach Firefighters and Paramedics Benevolent Fund, the Delray Beach St. Patrick’s Day Festival will be a day of shenanigans that you can’t miss.

Inaugural Proper St Patrick’s Day at Mizner Park Amphitheater, Boca Raton

When: March 17, 2024.

Get ready to shamrock and roll at the most epic St. Patrick’s Day event in South Florida. Brought to you by The City of Boca Raton and the team behind Sunset Tequila Festival, this event is not just a celebration; it’s a Proper St Patrick’s Day extravaganza celebrating Irish heritage. Best of all, it’s open to all ages and FREE to attend. 

Entertainment will be non-stop, featuring Spred the Dub, the Adam David band, Y100’s DJ GQ, traditional Irish dancers kicking up their heels, the soul-stirring tunes of a bagpipe crew, a craft market, cornhole, and ax throwing. Kids can enjoy face painting, a bounce house, and an obstacle course.

Turn up the party with specialty craft cocktails from Jameson, pints of Guinness, and a full bar stocked with Irish whiskies, liquor, and brews available at multiple stations throughout the amphitheater. A “dry bar” will offer Guinness 0.0 and mocktails so guests can enjoy their favorite beverages without the alcohol. Various food trucks will be on hand, serving up delightful bites ranging from classic Irish fare like corned beef sandwiches and bangers & mash to pizza, burgers, tacos, ice cream, and more.

Easter Party For Blind & Visually Impaired Children, West Palm Beach

When: March 23,11 am – 1 pm

Organized by the Florida Outreach Center for the Blind, this year’s Easter event will be held outside with beeping Easter eggs for the egg hunt, goodies and crafts for the children, and more! A light lunch will be served.

This event is specifically for children who are blind or visually impaired, or a sibling of a blind or visually-impaired child.

Palm Beach Pride, Lake Worth Beach

When: March 23-24.

Palm Beach Pride is a two-day festival that celebrates the LGBTQ community, equality, and respect in a family-friendly environment. The festival runs from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm and is located in Bryant Park in Downtown Lake Worth Beach. For more than two decades, Palm Beach Pride has served as Palm Beach County’s largest gay & lesbian visibility event. Palm Beach Pride also includes the Pride Parade, a large Youth village, and elements for senior members of the community.

Basics of Sushi (Workshop) at the Morikami, Delray Beach

When: March 24, 10 am – 12 pm

Sushi has entered the American palate as a cultural influence from Japan. But do you know what sushi is? Few know that sushi is not actually raw fish, but rice made with a bit of vinegar and sugar. Served with a variety of accompaniments, cooked or raw fish and vegetables, it can take many forms. In this hands-on workshop, led by sushi chef Mitsutoshi Sekita, participants will make their own raw creations while learning about the history and cultural relevance of sushi.

She.Her.Hers Exhibition at The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, Lake Worth Beach

When: Now- April 6

While women artists are beginning to achieve recognition for their work, they remain under-represented in galleries and museums. The She.Her.Hers exhibition focuses exclusively on the work of women artists and their responses to perceived requirements of domesticity, the many waves of feminism, and their own lived experiences.
