Like many of the cities in Florida’s Palm Beaches, Boynton Beach doesn’t have an official downtown. But in this particular town, almost all of the best shopping and dining can be found along U.S. Highway 1.

There are two main public transportation options that service the town of Boynton Beach, Florida: Palm Tran and Tri-Rail. Palm Tran is a bus system that runs through all of Palm Beach County (and a little bit beyond), including Boynton Beach. Tri-Rail is a convenient commuter rail line that runs all the way from Miami, through Boynton Beach Station, and up to Riviera Beach.

Many Native American tribes, including the Ais, the Jaega, and the Tequestas, called Boynton Beach their home for hundreds of years. Then, in the late 1800s, European settlers began to make the area their home as well. But it took over 100 years before the Town of Boynton became an incorporated community in 1920.
You certainly won’t want to miss out on Boynton Beach’s shorelines while you’re in town. Ocean Inlet Park and Ocean Front Beach Park are two spots that you definitely have to visit. These postcard-worthy beaches should be on every Florida bucket list.
