6 Most-Asked Questions About Experiencing SunFest

Six “first-timer” questions about South Florida’s premier music festival

Many people make SunFest their first festival experience, and it is easy to see why. Three stages are spread along the picturesque downtown West Palm Beach waterfront, giving visitors a tropical, beautiful view of the Lake Worth Lagoon and the Town of Palm Beach. Great hotels, restaurants & bars and art murals are nearby, adding to the ambiance and appeal of the downtown area. Transportation is easy, as is finding other things to do once you leave the venue.

Because so many newcomers visit, we’ve created a list of six questions most asked by first-timers.

1. Where can I buy tickets?

You can get tickets in advance from the SunFest ticket site. This is the official source for ticket purchases, so getting them in this manner ensures the right tickets at the right price. While you’re on the site, be sure to check out if SunFest is offering any special deals. You can choose between 1-day or 3-day passes. Tickets can be purchased at the gates as well. SunFest accepts all major credit cards.

2. Where is the best place to park?

SunFest offers pre-paid parking in three garages close to the festival.  There are several parking garages and lots in the area, but they fill up fast.  If you’re coming in from Miami, Aventura, Ft. Lauderdale, or Boca Raton, consider taking a Brightline train. The West Palm station is just blocks away from the action. To be notified when pre-paid parking goes on sale, click here.

3. What are the best things to keep with me inside SunFest?

The weather in The Palm Beaches is wonderful in April and May, with warm yet mild days and usually plenty of sun. Adopting light and breezy “summer” clothing is appropriate, and bringing a hat and sunscreen is always a good idea for keeping cool. As far as bringing along concert-watching gear like chairs, blankets and backpacks, be aware there are restrictions regarding what can be brought in and when it can be used. To plan appropriately, make sure to check out the full list of items you can bring along. Photographers and videographers should be aware that drones and professional camera equipment are NOT allowed at the venue.

4. What are the best ways to keep cool?

With a name like SunFest, it’s a fact that warm conditions and sunshine are likely factors during the event, so staying hydrated is a good idea. SunFest takes place along the West Palm Beach waterfront, which means attendees can take advantage of pleasant tropical sea breezes and waterfront views. There are plenty of palm trees to grab some shade under as well. SunFest veterans will tell you that adopting a relaxed mindset and drinking plenty of water will keep you comfortable through the entire event!

6. Good ways to get around town?

If you’re in town without a car or rental vehicle, first check with your hotel to see if they can provide a shuttle to the SunFest venue. If not, Palm Beach County offers public bus routes through most of the city, a map can help plan a trip from your hotel to SunFest. Many traditional taxi services are available, as are LYFT and UBER services. Using a transportation service after each night’s festivities will ensure your comfort and safety, especially if your hotel is a long distance away from the waterfront.
